A private practice in NW Columbus offering mental health counseling to children, teens, & adults. Often what you really need is outside perspective.

Breaking Wave Counseling is founded on the belief that you shouldn't have to manage depression, anxiety, or trauma alone. Allow me to help carry what's bothering you, what's stressing you, what's triggering you, even if it's just for a little while. My hope is that in doing so, you can then focus on learning the coping skills and strategies you need to lighten your load, resulting in you feeling empowered and strong enough to face the world again on your own. If it's your child who is struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma, you aren't supposed to have all the answers. Children don't come with instruction manuals, and they can't always verbalize when something is wrong. Family and friends can be quick to offer advice without knowing all the intimate details of the problem. This only causes you to feel even more subconscious and question your parenting abilities. Someone who can remain completely neutral and point out things family and friends can't because they're too connected to it. I understand how difficult it is to ask for help. Unfortunately, we live in a society where people are quick to judge and often lack of empathy. This may lead you to believe the only person you can rely on is yourself, causing you to feel even more overwhelmed. While it is important to take care of yourself, sometimes we all need a little help. I would love the opportunity to offer you the support and guidance you need to lead a better, more fulfilling life.
