In addition to working in my office, I have had the privilege of doing in-home massages in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, yoga studios, hair salons, a houseboat, and art studios. I've met a lot of cats and dogs and a chinchilla, and have worked around piles of books and artwork and houseplants and furniture. Yesterday I was able to do a handful of massages in .dax studio (if the artwork looks familiar to you, I have a piece from him hanging in my office). I love being able to do in-home massage!

For Cincinnati folks, I somewhat regularly come to town for in-home work; if you want to book, please reach out and we can discuss it! (All the merrier if you and a few friends want to make a day of it and do a series of massages in a row!)

I got a message awhile back from an artist in New York () asking if they could do an art trade by proxy for a friend who lives in Columbus. 100% yes! I told them my general art theme is trans joy, and the quote "you have the right to make your body home." They gave me these three pieces (and several more! An abundance of beauty!) so their friend could come in for safe, affirming massages.

This is what I love so much about the q***r community; we show up for each other because we understand that we cannot do this life on our own. We love each other loudly and fiercely and are the better for it. This community-turned-family is where I learned just how transformative love can be.

This is a celebration of q***rness, and a gentle reminder to ask your community for what you need. We are here for each other, we are not meant to do this alone.

The first specialty that I focused on outside of massage was perinatal work. I am certified to work with prenatal and postpartum clients, and have training in Cesarean scar tissue remediation.

Prenatal massage provides relief to the pregnant person and allows their body and mind to relax. Postpartum massage focuses on letting the body know pregnancy is over and getting a person to come back into their body. Scar tissue work can help reduce scar tissue rooting, increases nerve sensation, and improve circulation along the scar. All three are great massages!

I love doing these massages and working with perinatal clients, but have seen a significant drop in these services recently. I think massage is a really helpful tool to deal with a lot of physical aches and pains in both the pregnant and postpartum phases! Hi babes! Dropping into everyone's feeds to announce that I'll be out of my office this weekend to move, but will be back and ready to give supportive healing massages in July!

Major corporations that have rainbows available one month of the year while slashing their DEI and funding conservative politicians do not deserve your money! I guess 2025 is my year of "if you try to fight me online about my basic humanity, I will post about you as a cautionary tale."

This account, which has only been opened since September and has no posts and follows 2 accounts, is clearly just a troll, and I don't believe in anonymising what someone is choosing to say with their whole chest. They were wanting to fight with me about the use of the word "q***r," at first claiming it was an offensive term for most gay and le***an people. This is a dog whistle for an anti-trans narrative and advocates for the erasure of trans people, believing LGB and TQ communities should be seen separately. Its only place on my newsfeed is to use it as a source of education.

For the record, trans people have always existed and will always exist. Trans people have always been a part of q***r history and were on the front lines of fighting for gay and le***an rights. The q***r agenda is to thrive. (Look up Sylvia Rivera's 1973 speech). There is a vicious rewriting of history taking place right now, but it is not being done by me or any other trans person.

Anti-trans rhetoric is loud, even within the larger q***r community. If you are an ally of the trans community, please choose to be louder.

A reminder to my trans friends in this frightening time: despite being told we do not exist, here we are existing, my loves. I have noticed an increase of stress and anxiety in my own body and imagine you might be experiencing this, as well. If a massage seems like it would be helpful for you but/and your finances are feeling tight, I would still like to work with you.

I have funds that were donated specifically for minorities that need financial assistance, to cover the cost of the massage, either in part or in whole!

I am also happy to trade services, and am currently looking for new artwork for my office. The only theme they need to follow is "trans joy."

Tl;dr: forged family is more precious than gems

If you've spoken to me since I changed my name, you may have heard me tell you the story behind my new middle name. I chose Lou, after Lou Alcott (author of Little Women), the evidence suggesting that they were non-binary or a trans man. (For reference: Jo being largely autobiographical in Little Women, them going by Uncle or Papa Lou with their family, the journal entry which read "I am more than half convinced that I am a man trapped in a woman's body..." I could go on)

This is a story I tell everyone, and for Christmas this year my wife's partner had their friend reimagine an old portrait of Lou as they may perhaps have wanted to be seen. It is beautiful and creative and thoughtful and so affirming. Lou's family seemed to accept them as brother/papa/uncle and it is life-giving to be receiving the same acceptance from this family we are making. I am grateful to my forged family, and I am grateful to Lou for coming before me and representing pieces of myself that echoed in my bones as a child and still do to this day.

Q***r family and q***r history are both beautiful. They deserve to be celebrated and shared.

(Also if you've made it this far, please call DeWine's office and tell him to veto HB8, which would eliminate all of this story from being shared in any Ohio school!)
