Team RCF welcomes, Talea Foster, APRN, FNP-C. Our newest clinical provider. Talea Foster is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. With over 9 years of experience working in mental health, Talea’s role working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has been multifaceted, including working as a mental health advocate, counselor, and educator. We are super excited to have her as she seeks to impact the communities we serve by integrating evidenced-based practices with faith-based approaches.

Team RCF would like welcome our first two administrative staff members, Stephanie Schwartz (Lead Office Assistant) and Jaimecia Banks (Billing and Credentialing Manager). Beatrice is a licensed social worker at Resilient Children and Families (RCF). She will officially begin providing services for patients/clients in January of 2024. Beatrice has a diverse range of clinical experiences working across various mental health and social service settings. She has a passion for working with youth, especially adolescents between the ages 12 and 17, and specializes in delivering a various therapeutic modalities to include family systems therapy and solution-focused approaches. We are very excited to have her as a colleague and team member at RCF.

Resilient Children and Families is a Black-owned and Veteran-owned private practice in the area of clinical psychology. Clinical psychology is a field in the area of psychology that offers comprehensive socio-emotional and behavioral health care. This may include psychological testing and evaluation, psychotherapy, and other interventions services.

At RCF, our mission is to provide specialized psychological services to children and families. Our vision is to increase access to psychological services to all, including disadvantaged and under-served communities. We provide culturally sensitive, responsive, evidence-based approaches to care regardless of an individuals’ unique differences (i.e., ethnicity, race, religion, gender, ability, sexual orientation, or other sociocultural factors). We offer services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

John Brazell is the Respite Care Program Director. Mr. Brazell is an emerging entrepreneur and business owner. Mr. Brazell’s heart is grounded in providing human and social services to individuals affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). His maternal grandmother provided foster care for 4 children in her home and Mr. Brazell established sibling-like relationships with each one. In addition, Mr. Brazell served 8 years in the United States Army Reserves. He completed some college coursework in 2015 at Franklin University. Mr. Brazell earned his highschool diploma from Northland High in 2000, which is located in Columbus, Ohio. Currently, Mr. Brazell holds a position in accounting working for the Department of Defense.

Dr. Mason is the founder of Resilient Children and Families. As an emerging philanthropist and entrepreneur, he is committed to providing psychological and social services to disadvantaged children and supportive services to their families. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Mason specializes in the testing and evaluation of young children with suspected neurodevelopmental disabilities; and, psychotherapeutic treatment of trauma and other psychiatric conditions. Most recently, he held a dual faculty position as a neurodevelopmental psychologist and clinical assistant professor at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and the Ohio State University’s School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. At NCH, Dr. Mason spearheaded the development of a formalized FASD clinic. He completed his postdoctoral residency at Emory School of Medicine in the teratogen exposure clinic. He earned his doctorate of philosophy in clinical psychology from Seattle Pacific University in 2018.
