In 1998, I was told to quit nursing school by the dean of nursing. In 2000, I was told by professors I’d never get hired at that large city hospital I dreamed of working at. In 2001, I was given a job on a vascular thoracic surgical unit at said hospital despite HR saying I was “too green” to start out on that unit. Thanks to a manager who believed in me. I’d make great friends. Met my husband thru a friend on that unit & later become a mother. I’d see the changes in healthcare diminish my passion for the profession. I’d see a gap in healthcare, & launch 2 businesses as a result, bc my husband believed in my idea. I’d go on to help nurses nationwide find happiness thru senior footcare business ownership. Grateful for every obstacle I’ve encountered along the way. If you are struggling in school or at work…there is hope. The obstacles you face today are stepping stones to a future you could not even dream of. Keep going! If you fail a class or Nckex, go back. If someone says you can’t do, say watch me. I am living proof of overcoming.🙏
