GARDEN GNOME • GARDENING
Hi-ho, hi-ho! Off to the garden we go!!!
Garden gnome here accessorizing my wardrobe with hoe, trowel and rake!
For a few moments the past week, I didn’t think I knew how to garden anymore and a friend reminded me that I was here to garden WITH nature, not try to make the garden a perfect place.
So, yes, we found an invasive that had planted itself and grew in the middle of the asparagus bed and had to be dug out by hand. Had to heel in the crowns until we could get them in. Yes, the squash plants were ready early and after planting on Saturday, we had a nippy frost Sunday morning, minimal damage but I sure didn’t like it. And with all the additional care needed, some seeds didn’t get planted that day. I forget that I’m there with the garden, it talks, I need to listen. Currently it’s telling me progress, not perfection. What’s your garden saying to you?
