If you’ve worked with our PT’s you know we are full of questions. We want to know the details of your workouts, activities and how you recover from them. As annoying as our digging is; we have a reason. Pain isn’t the only guide to tell us you’re getting better. Many of the factors listed above prove you’re on the right track. If you’ve spent any time around you know she is not only an amazing athlete but an even better person.

Here’s what she had to say about working with us through some recent aches and pains.

“A few months ago I injured my wrist during a floor press when it jammed into the ground. From that point on, a lot of movements were off the table. I couldn’t sn**ch, perform overhead lifts, handstand walk, or put much pressure through my wrist without pain.

Then about three weeks ago, I tweaked my shoulder around the biceps tendon. That made things even more frustrating — I couldn’t bench, do burpees, or even get into a push-up position without aggravating it. Training started to feel more like working around injuries than actually progressing.

The biggest turning point for me was combining dry needling with targeted PT exercises. That combination made a huge difference. Instead of constantly modifying workouts, I was finally able to address the root of the problem and start moving the way I needed to again.

Now, I’m back to participating in CrossFit workouts daily and continuing competitions without second-guessing my body. I can sn**ch, press overhead, do push-ups and handstand work — all pain free.
What used to be daily limitations during workouts is now full confidence in my body again.”

It’s that time of year again 🏃‍♂️

The weather hits 55° and suddenly everyone remembers they “used to run a lot.”

Pro tip: your lungs may remember… but your tendons probably don’t. 😅

Ease back in, build the miles gradually… or get ahead of the aches and pains with a running analysis to make sure your mechanics are working for you, not against you.

If dust has collected on your running shoes over the winter, let’s build those miles the right way so your comeback story doesn’t turn into a “why does my knee hurt?” story. 😅

My other suggestion is to get your calves nice and warm for burpees or double unders!!! Bring it on 26.3.

Golfers elbows? More like weight lifters elbow….
Pain on the medial, or inside of the elbow characterized by:
Tender to touch
Numbness and tingling into pinky and ring finger
Worse in the morning
Pain with back squat
Pain in front rack
Pain in deep elbow bending like pull up

Often times caused by
Lack of pronation at the forearm or wrist
Lack of shoulder external rotation range of motion or stability
Ulnar nerve irritation from repetitive stretching in front rack position

How to fix?
Treat the symptoms
Dry needling of course
Address the cause
shoulder?
forearm?
Load!
side lying external rotation
PVC pipe pronation and supine

It’s finally time for the Open! If you’re hitting 26.1 hard, keep this warm-up pretty simple, just like the WOD. Don’t blow up your legs “warming up”.

✨EMOM 9:00✨

1: Low squat butterfly at the rig 🦋🦋 Sit wayyyyy down!
Don’t get no-repped on your wallballs for missing depth

2- 0:30 sprint of your choice (row, bike, burpees). Get your HR up before those box jump-overs do it for you 😰

3- 100’ OH carry with the wallball you’re going to use. You’re gonna get to be real good friends with her ♥️

After this just keep your head down and keep moving. When are you doing 26.1?
