I’ve heard it all

The CrossFit Open pushes your body week after week—high volume, high intensity, limited recovery time.

When training stress piles up, your nervous system can turn the pain volume k**b up. That k**b is influenced by a chemical called CGRP (calcitonin gene related peptide)

When CGRP is high, athletes often notice:
* Tight shoulders/hips/low back
* Lingering soreness between workouts
* Movements that suddenly feel painful or “off”
* Slower recovery week to week

What Dry Needling + E-Stim Does 💪🏽

Dry needling targets skeletal muscle/corresponding nerves. Adding e-stim taps into your body’s internal control- alt- delete essentially helping reset your nervous system.

This combo helps:
* Turn CGRP down (less pain sensitivity)
* Reduce muscle guarding and stiffness
* Improve blood flow without fatiguing tissue
* Restore movement quality

Why This Matters During the Open
You don’t need to stop training—you need your body to recover faster between weeks.

Athletes often report:
* Easier overhead positions
* Less “tightness hangover” after Open workouts
* More movement confidence
* Feeling ready for the next WOD—not just surviving the last one

Bottom line:
Dry needling with e-stim helps calm the pain system so you can keep training, keep competing, and show up ready each Open week.

Don’t have access to a lat pullover machine. Start here💪.

The weakest part of the lat pull is from just below your shoulders to slightly behind your torso. This is a great way to hit those fibers.

“Sometimes I go about in pity for myself, and all the while, a great wind carries me across the sky.”

Started thinking about how it took 5 years to improve squatting which got me reflecting about other things that take time and patience.

Rehabbing an injury
Body comp
Strength
Relationships
Decorating your house

The winds carrying me are my partner, my Friends,my teammates , my colleagues, the community of gyms I work and train and , my cats.

When you’re dealing with an injury or life struggles and feeling down, what’s carrying you?

My goal is to be the wind for all my clients going through an injury. You are not alone. We have your back. Literally.

Hold a tempo for more pump per minute! There are so many benefits to this type of but in this case my favorite one is more strength with less load. And building control in good positions. And mobility.

OK, I don’t have a favorite. But this is a ✨great✨ tactic for pushing intensity and returning to your regular workouts after an injury.

Go forth and lift! ✌️♥️💪

If you’ve seen Kara Concheck Vincent in the gym, you already know she’s an exceptional athlete. Through her second pregnancy, she’s continued to train hard and show up consistently into her third trimester. When nagging low back pain started spilling into her day to day life, Kara knew she didn’t want it to dictate how the rest of her pregnancy or her training would look.

Together, we addressed the specific demands pregnancy was placing on her body and her training. With a few targeted PT sessions focused on strength, load management, and core control, her pain dropped significantly and she gained clarity on how to keep training with confidence.

She’s still showing up, still getting stronger, and let’s be honest…still beating most of us in WoDs! 🤣 A great reminder that pregnancy and performance can coexist with smart programming and intentional strength work. We can’t wait to see Kara keep crushing it in the gym the rest of her pregnancy! Talk about ! What an inspiration to us all! 🙌
