We are one of the few Hospice agencies in Indiana boasting a beautiful Inpatient Facility to care for those needing acute crisis care or respite care. We care for anyone at any age, including pediatric patients. While the majority of our costs are covered by insurance. We are a non-for-profit hospice and our goal is to provide the best care to anyone requiring our service, despite financial or insurance means. New Better Together Podcast Episode!

In this episode, host and President Steph Cain sits down with longtime board members Tom Dowd and Dr. Dave Thompson to look back on the original 2003 capital campaign that made our Hospice Center a reality. Together, they share heartfelt stories from those early days—how the Columbus community rallied around a vision for compassionate end-of-life care, how donors and partners stepped forward, and what it felt like to see the Center open its doors for the first time.

Tom and Dr. Dave also reflect on the years since: the growth of Our Hospice, the families served within these walls, and the lasting impact of those who helped build the Center more than 20 years ago. As Steph introduces the new Hospice Center Refresh Campaign, the conversation naturally shifts toward the future—why the refresh is needed, how it honors our original donors, and how it will help us continue delivering what matters most to patients and families for decades to come.

It’s a thoughtful blend of history, gratitude, and a shared vision for the next chapter of our mission.

Today, the Columbus Rotary Club joined us for their annual Christmas stocking-stuffing project, filling hundreds of stockings for our patients and loved ones. They even brought ornaments made from a repurposed airplane propeller from the Columbus airport—such a unique touch!

These stockings wouldn’t be possible without a wonderful group of women from First Presbyterian Church, who have sewn them by hand for nine years. Their dedication—and the community partnership behind this tradition—helps us continue to make every moment count.

Special thanks to the stocking creators:

Marlene Blue
Terri Glackin
Clare Moore
Nancy Sawin
Dianne Farrar

Marilyn Richardson
Nancy Kessler
Debbie George
Andi Orben
Dianne Sprunger

We are grateful for everyone who makes this tradition so meaningful. 🎄💙
