Four years of impact

As our birthday month comes to a close, we’re celebrating all that Adult Literacy Ohio has made possible — including serving 25 adult learners across Ohio right now!

If you’ve been thinking about making a birthday gift, this is the perfect time. Every contribution helps us continue growing and supporting adults with developmental disabilities on their literacy journeys.

What happens when we stop assuming people with developmental disabilities have “peaked” academically? This powerful presentation, led by Adult Literacy Ohio’s Rachel Heiber, will share data, stories, and lived experiences that show adult learners can and do continue building literacy skills, with meaningful impact on independence, confidence, health, and quality of life.

Happy International Book Giving Day!

We had the best birthday celebration thanks to some incredible local bookstores who shared the gift of reading with us. Clintonville Books gave us a tote and mug, Dragonfly Bookshop added bookmarks and some gently loved books, Gramercy Books Bexley spoiled us with a tote, coffee mug, and gift card, and Beanbag Books brought bookmarks, stickers, and a whole book stack with a gift card!

Every donation reminded us how special it is to give the gift of books, and we couldn’t be more grateful to these amazing shops for helping us share that joy with our community.

Our 4th birthday party was full of smiles, stories, and so much joy—and the library-themed photo booth was a crowd favorite. These photos capture what we’re all about: community, learning, and lifelong literacy.

WOW! What a perfect way to celebrate Adult Literacy Ohio's birthday!

We sang Happy Birthday (beautifully led by one of our talented learners Musical Mosaic with Mark !), enjoyed cake, played games, and spent the day surrounded by our amazing community. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, and to those who couldn’t make it, we truly appreciate your continued support from afar.
