"You can’t just 'snap out of it."

Mental health conditions are not phases or attitudes and addiction is not caused by moral failure. These diseases are often thought to be treatable by “just snapping out of it.” They require the same understanding and care as those with any other treatable condition.

🎊🎉 THIS IS IT: THE FINISH LINE! 🎉🎊
Whether you didn't touch a drop the entire time or had a few drinks along the way, you stuck with this experience long enough to shift your awareness around alcohol.

So... what's next?

This is where the real journey begins. You've spent a month gaining awareness and building a foundation. Now it's time to use that knowledge.

Here's what to consider moving forward:

Reflect: What did you learn about yourself and your drinking habits? What tools worked?

Define your goals: What do you want your relationship with alcohol to look like?

Create a plan: How will you achieve those goals? What are your non-negotiables?

Be kind to yourself: Change is a journey. There will be ups and downs. Celebrate your progress.

You've done something amazing this month. We're so proud of you. ❤️

It's - Day 30. This is it—our LAST FULL DAY of Dry January! YOU MADE IT!

Tomorrow is day 31, and you'll have completed the entire month. Think about everything you've learned, everything you've gained, and everything you've proven to yourself.

You are capable of more than you knew. And now you know it.

One more day! How are you feeling as we approach the finish line?

It's - Day 29. Only 2 days left!

Let's talk about boundaries that actually stick.

Traditional advice says: "You need willpower. You need to take responsibility." But that's not how human brains work.

The boundaries that stick aren't based on willpower—they're based on specificity and pre-commitment.

Research shows that vague goals ("I'll drink less") fail about 80% of the time. But "if-then" plans succeed about 80% of the time.

Not effective: "I won't drink too much." (Vague, requires real-time judgment)
Effective: "If I'm at a dinner party and offered wine, then I'll ask for sparkling water." (Specific, pre-decided)

The difference? Your brain doesn't have to make a decision in the moment. The decision is already made.

Moving forward, identify your vulnerable points. When does drinking happen without conscious decision? Create if-then plans for each scenario. Decide NOW, when you're clear-headed—not later when you're in the moment.

Give yourself some credit! What's one thing you want to celebrate about yourself today?

It's - Day 28. The finish line is in sight!

As we approach the end of this month, let's talk about what comes next. The decision is entirely yours—continue abstaining, extend this experiment, or explore moderation. Each path is valid.

But if you choose moderation, proceed with caution.

Alcohol is inherently addictive—that's a scientific fact, not a personal failing. Moderation requires constant vigilance and self-awareness. It means engaging in an ongoing internal dialogue: "Should I drink tonight? If so, what and how much?"
Here's the challenge: alcohol impairs decision-making. After that first drink, intentions and actions don't always align.

Take time to reflect on what you've learned this month. Consider the physiological and emotional impacts of alcohol. Is moderation the right path for you? Or are you ready to give it up for good?

The choice is 100% yours. You're responsible for your well-being.

What will you miss most about Dry January? What will you NOT miss?

It's - Day 27! Just 4 more to go. 🏁

Today, we’re exploring the question: is alcohol really poisonous and addictive?

Think about the evidence from your own life:

Poisonous? Remember waking up after drinking too much and smelling fermentation seeping out of your pores, your mouth, your urine? That's your body doing everything it can to rid itself of a toxin.

Addictive? Remember sitting somewhere you couldn't drink—maybe pregnant, maybe driving, maybe on medication—watching everyone else sip their drinks while you white-knuckled your way through? Mouth watering. Resentful. Fixated.

You're 27 days strong now. Look at the evidence for yourself and decide what you believe.

Look back at what you wrote on Day 1. Did you get what you were hoping for? Tell us!

🎥 Day 26 and it's our FINAL LIVE COACHING SESSION today at noon!

But before that, let's talk about liberation vs. fixation:

Fixation is when your brain starts planning around alcohol before you consciously decide to drink. You walk into a party and immediately scan for the bar. You accept a dinner invitation and your first thought is "will there be wine?" Your brain is solving for alcohol before you've decided you want it.

Liberation is when alcohol is just... an option. One you can genuinely take or leave. Someone offers you a drink and you notice you can say yes OR no without internal negotiation. The choice feels neutral.

The shift happens in your attention. When you're fixated, alcohol occupies mental real estate even when you're not drinking. When you're liberated, it doesn't.
Ask yourself:

Do I think about drinking before the opportunity arises?
Does NOT drinking require active willpower, or does it feel neutral?

This isn't about being "good" or "bad" at not drinking. It's about whether your brain is running an automatic program or whether you have genuine agency.

Where are you on the scale? Fixation or liberation? Tell us at today's session!
