Realizing you don’t fully understand what childbirth is all about can feel... intimidating.

Learning that you don’t know what your options in birth are can feel… unsettling.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

If you’re expecting a baby soon and want a space to learn, ask questions, and prepare for birth in a way that feels grounded and clear, I’d love to have you join me.

My small group, in-person childbirth series in Columbus, Ohio begins on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 and will run for 4 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6-8 PM.

It’s designed to feel personal, supportive, and helpful—not overwhelming.

I’m keeping the group intentionally small, so spots are limited.

If this thought has crossed your mind… you’re not alone.

So many people are moving through pregnancy without ever getting a full picture of their options—and then are expected to make big decisions in the moment.

That’s exactly why I created this.

I’m hosting a small group, in-person childbirth class series in Columbus, Ohio starting May 19, 2026 where we slow things down and talk through things like:
• how labor works
• what your options are
• how to navigate decisions with your provider
• and what support can look like along the way

It’s conversational, not overwhelming and I’m keeping the group small so you have space to ask questions and feel supported.

Spots are limited.

We talk a lot about how babies are born.
We don’t talk nearly enough about what happens after.

A cesarean isn’t just a different kind of birth.
It’s major abdominal surgery… followed by caring for a newborn.

That combination deserves more attention than it gets.

You might need:
• Hands-on help in those early days
• More time to rest than you expected
• Support with feeding, movement, and basic recovery
• Space to process your experience—especially if things didn’t go as planned

None of that means you’re weak.
It means your body did something big.

Whether your cesarean was planned, unexpected, or somewhere in between, you deserve to be supported through all of it, not just the moment your baby is born.

A cesarean birth involves moving through several layers of your body to meet your baby.

From the outside in, here’s what that looks like:

1ļøāƒ£ Skin – the outer layer of your body, where the incision is typically made low and horizontal

2ļøāƒ£ A layer of fatty tissue – just beneath the skin, helping cushion and protect everything underneath

3ļøāƒ£ A strong layer of connective tissue (fascia) – kind of like a supportive wrap that holds your abdominal muscles in place

4ļøāƒ£ Your abdominal muscles – these are usually gently separated and moved aside, not cut

5ļøāƒ£ A thin lining inside your abdomen (peritoneum) – this layer is opened to reach the uterus

6ļøāƒ£ The uterus – where your baby has been growing, carefully opened (usually low and horizontal)

7ļøāƒ£ The amniotic sac – the fluid-filled ā€œbubbleā€ your baby lives in, which is opened so your baby can be born

A cesarean is a powerful, valid way to give birth.
And—it’s also major abdominal surgery.

Understanding what’s happening in your body matters.
Not to scare you, but to help you walk into birth informed, prepared, and supported—whatever direction it takes.
