Small Business Saturday — Founder’s Note ✨
To our .and.float family,
On this Small Business Saturday, I’ve been thinking a lot about Ayni — the Andean/Quechua principle of sacred reciprocity. It’s a philosophy that recognizes the interconnectedness of all things: people, nature, community, energy, and the unseen threads that move between us.
Ayni teaches that there is no giving without receiving, and no receiving without giving. It’s a balance, a rhythm, a cycle — one that keeps communities healthy, resilient, and in right relationship with each other.
Today, that feels especially true.
In honor of Small Business Saturday, I want to express an immense feeling of gratitude for this .and.float community. You are a huge part of our dream. Nothing we’ve created — our healing spaces, our services, our team — exists without your presence and participation. You give this place life and meaning.
And by choosing to shop with small, local businesses — ours or any others — we are slowly and surely shaping a future with more opportunity, more diversity, and more choice. Each intentional purchase becomes a way of saying, I want more of this in the world.
This act of conscious choice is a privilege, and it allows us to co-create a reality where we see more of ourselves in the world, and more of the world within ourselves.
So when you make a purchase from .and.float this season (and all year round) —whether it’s sauna sessions to help you through the long, dark winter…
or float sessions, you’re gifting your extended family…
or a massage you’ve been meaning to book for yourself…
You’re not just supporting a business, our team, and our family. You’re practicing Ayni — sacred reciprocity — taking your place in the ongoing cycle of mutual support. The balance of giving and receiving.
From my heart 💙: thank you for being here. Thank you for choosing us. Thank you for allowing this dream to keep growing.
With deep gratitude,
Kym
