Dense breast tissue is more common than many women realize — and understanding what it means for your breast health is key to feeling confident about screenings. 💗

Breast density is noted on your mammogram and can change over time due to age, hormones, pregnancy, or weight changes. While dense tissue slightly increases breast cancer risk and can make small findings harder to see on a mammogram, it doesn’t mean cancer is inevitable.

Our specialists at Professionals for Women’s Health in Columbus, OH personalize screening schedules, including additional imaging when needed, so you can stay on top of your breast health with peace of mind.

Pregnancy comes with plenty of advice — and not all of it is accurate. ❌ One common myth? That you should “eat for two.” 🍽️

While your body does need extra nutrients to support your growing baby, it doesn’t mean doubling your calories. In fact, overeating can increase the risk of excessive weight gain, gestational diabetes, and other complications.

✅ What you should focus on: nutrient-rich foods like leafy greens, lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and dairy. In the second and third trimester, you typically only need about 300 extra calories a day — that’s like a yogurt and a banana! 🍌

So, skip the “two-for-one” portions and instead fuel your body with quality over quantity. Your baby (and your energy levels) will thank you! 💕
