THERAPY THURSDAY: Balloon Racket Fun

This activity looks like pure fun - and it is! But it's also building critical skills:
✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Visual tracking (following moving objects)
✨ Motor planning and timing
✨ Bilateral coordination
✨ Core strength and balance

At-home tip: Balloons are perfect for beginners because they move slowly! Start with just hitting the balloon, then progress to catching it on the racket. Make it a game - how many times can you hit it without it touching the ground?

Looking for a calmer, more meaningful egg hunt experience for your little one? 🐣✨

Our friends at Dorothy's Playhouse are hosting a special indoor, ticketed egg hunt designed with kids (and parents) in mind! This event is limited to just 12 children, creating a relaxed, low-pressure environment where everyone has space to explore and enjoy.

Instead of the typical “rush,” children will be able to find eggs at their own pace—no competition, just fun! 💛 Each child will also receive a thoughtfully curated goodie bag filled with items they’ll truly enjoy (no candy or junk)!

There will also be a photo op opportunity 📸, plus a craft and sensory table for even more hands-on fun.

This two-hour event is designed to be laid back, engaging, and perfect for kids who thrive in a calmer setting.

THERAPY THURSDAY: Ball Pit Treasure Hunt

Using grabbers in the ball pit makes therapy feel like play! This activity works on:
✨ Fine motor control (squeezing the grabber)
✨ Visual scanning and searching skills
✨ Hand strength and grip
✨ Reaching and crossing midline
✨ Sensory input and regulation

At-home tip: Hide small toys in a laundry basket filled with balls, stuffed animals, or even crumpled paper. Have your child use tongs, grabbers, or just their hands to find the treasures!
