Training those kayaking muscles…

Summer is around the corner, we gotta get ready for all those outdoor and water activities!

This is one of my favorite functional exercises that works the whole body, especially the deep core and transverse abdominals– your “corset muscles”

This movement also brings in some breath-to-movement and aids in gut regularity, all at once.

The first thing that hits your gut in the morning sets the pace for your entire day, no matter how sensitive your gut is.

Caffeine on an empty stomach spikes the cortisol and sends your body into fight or flight before your day even begins.

A little fiber first thing in the morning can go a long way for maintaining the integrity of your gut lining, balancing blood sugar, and improving digestion and regularity. 💩

Embracing movement as a form of PLAY rather than punishment.

We live in a society that normalizes forcing yourself to go to the gym out of urgency to erase the effects of the daily decisions you’ve been making for your health…

“At least I’m doing something…” you think, while continuing to foster an increasingly destructive relationship with movement.

What if you shifted that narrative?

What if the daily movement was much simpler and far more accessible than the nearest box gym? – all its sights, sounds and smells…

Dare I offer, what if movement was something you enjoyed doing, so that you associate movement with joy instead of dread?

I am embracing that mindset in full swing this spring – inviting PLAY into movement, wherever I can.

Starting with a hobby I enjoyed as a kid and still feel like one when I’m rollin.
