Have you ever thought to incorporate Natural Family Planning into your Lenten practices? 🤔
I remember while attending Mass on Ash Wednesday in my 20s, the priest explaining during his Homily that he just really disliked this time of penance and self sacrifice. Certainly, I think we all feel that at times as we enjoy the comforts of our daily living, but this season is one that I've really come to look forward to and appreciate as I've gotten older. It's a reset; a way to begin again; a time for spiritual growth and reflection.
And as I discern and pray about the plan for my Lenten journey this year, I got to thinking about how God doesn't ask us to give in big and heroic ways, but in all the little ways as we go about our every day. We can use the everyday challenges to practice self-sacrifice and make all that we do a prayer, offering these to our good Lord, who gave all of Himself for each one of us.
So how can you use your marriage as a prayer and sacrifice this Lent?
