The iconic image of a bear emerging from its den to welcome spring is a perfect metaphor for how traditional Chinese Medicine frames SPRING as well.

Spring is associated with the wood element, representing new growth & beginnings.

Additionally it is linked to the liver, the organ which cleanses, rejuvenates, and rids the body of toxins.

Did you know that acupuncture, cupping therapy, massage & reiki can support your body as it transitions from winter to spring?

Reset, boost energy, detox, and cultivate a healthier mind, body, and spirit this season. And don't forget to frolic outside!

Happy Spring!

Since 1500 BCE, cupping therapy has been utilized to relieve tension & muscular pain. Cupping therapy is a therapeutic tool which uses suction to increase blood flow & circulation to tissues.

Cupping, used in conjunction with acupuncture can be extremely effective at alleviating painful tension. Are you curious about it? Jeff & Steve will be offering a FREE patient education session ALL ABOUT CUPPING!

People often ask us about wet cupping, also called Hijama, which we do not provide at Urban Acupuncture Center. It is not within the scope of our practice.

Join us at Urban Acupuncture Center on Sunday, April 12th from 4-5:00 pm as we continue our education series on 2nd Sundays in 2026.

No registration required.

Newcomers often think acupuncture is magical, leaving the clinic with a sense of mystical awe. Acupuncture's potential to alleviate pain and facilitate peacefulness has long been studied, but many patients still wonder how it works.

It works for many reasons, one of which is the web-like connective tissue, called FASCIA, that wires the body into discrete circuits. It nourishes the tissues and structures of the body and when needled (by an acupuncturist) sends a message which stimulates the body to respond.

Interested in learning more? Attend one of our free patient education sessions every second Sunday of the month or ask any of our acupuncturists! They love to talk about the multitude of benefits initiated by acupuncture treatments.
