“I cried after I got off the phone, thinking I’d finally get help.”

After months of worsening eye pain and little relief, this patient found hope at Ohio State’s Dry Eye Clinic. With the care of Dr. Sayoko Moroi and Casey, they received the most thorough exam they’d ever had and a treatment plan that worked.

With PRP drops and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy, they are now 85–90% better and on the path to full recovery.

Their words say it best: “There is always hope.” ❤️

If you’re struggling with dry eye, know that hope and healing are possible.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Liujiang Song to the Vision Research team! Dr. Song is passionate about creating gene therapy solutions to help preserve and restore sight for people around the world. She compares her work to ‘package delivery’ - carefully designing and delivering healthy genes right where they’re needed most in the eye.

When she’s not working on the science of saving sight, you can often find her playing basketball with her weekly pickup team or keeping up with her three energetic boys. 🏀💙

Drop a 👋 in the comments to welcome Dr. Song to our vision research family!

We’re proud to celebrate a milestone moment for our department!

Eight of our brilliant faculty members joined colleagues from around the world to publish a groundbreaking study in Nature Medicine: "An Eyecare Foundation Model for Clinical Assistance: A Randomized Controlled Trial".

Their research tested EyeFM, one of the first AI tools designed to support eye doctors in real-world practice, which is helping improve diagnoses and guide patients to the right care faster.

Here’s to these incredible minds who are not just advancing science but shaping the future of vision care! ✨

Huge congratulations to:
Dr. Ping Zhang | Dr. Sayoko Moroi | Dr. Joshua Evans | Dr. Alan Letson | Dr. Frederick Davidorf | Dr. Mona Adeli | Dr. Peter Chen | Dr. Thomas Mendel 👏
