It's a split decision! Punxsutawney Phil in PA saw his reflection earlier today and predicts winter will stick around for six more weeks. Hope, hailing from her namesake of Hope, IN, predicts an early spring.

Did you know today is National Chocolate Cake Day? Our friends from the Weight Loss Institute, dietitians Julie and Maureen, have offered this healthy, chocolatey recipe to try.

Ultra-moist, chocolatey, and rich - you’ll never guess the secret ingredient!

Sugar-Free Black Bean Chocolate Cake
from Plan to Eat Website
Ingredients
1½ cups cooked black beans, rinsed and very well drained
3 large eggs
⅓ cup melted butter or melted coconut oil
½ cup Monk Fruit (Lakanto)
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
2 tbsp heavy cream for moisture

Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan.
Add black beans, eggs, melted butter, Monk Fruit, cocoa powder, vanilla, baking powder, salt, and heavy cream to a food processor.
Blend for 1–2 minutes until completely smooth and glossy.
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 32 minutes at 350°F until the center is just set.
Cool in the pan for 20 minutes, then remove and cool completely before slicing.

Tips & Tricks
Blend thoroughly—no bean texture should remain.
Slightly underbake for a fudgier center.
Chill before slicing for clean, dense slices.

Travel conditions are dangerous and our area’s status is now red 🔴, which means emergency travel ONLY.

🟥🚗 Travel Status Update – Bartholomew County 🚗🟥

Bartholomew County has elevated its travel status to a WARNING (Red) due to hazardous road conditions.

A Warning means travel conditions are dangerous. Travel should be avoided unless absolutely necessary, and is restricted to emergency personnel only. Snow-covered roads, reduced visibility, and worsening conditions are expected.

Please stay off the roads if possible, monitor local updates, and check the Indiana Travel Status Map before traveling. We will continue to share updates as conditions change. Stay safe.
