Please join us in recognizing and honoring the nearly 200 physician members of our active medical staff as we celebrate National Doctors’ Day today, March 30.

CRH physicians provide expert care, service, and treatment in practices, at the hospital, and at Our Hospice. Including primary care physicians, surgeons, proceduralists, and specialists, our doctors also represent one of the most culturally diverse segments of the CRH workforce.

To each and every one of our physicians, active and retired, we want to wish you a Happy Doctors’ Day! We extend our sincere appreciation for the invaluable contributions you make to our patients and the communities we serve and for the support you provide your colleagues and fellow workforce members each and every day.

Dr. Patrick Barrett, CRH Gastroenterologist, talks about what colon cancer is. Colon cancer is one of the few cancers that can be prevented - by getting a colonscopy. A colonoscopy allows the surgeon to check your colon health and also remove colon polyps to reduce your risk for developing cancer.

Beginning on Monday, March 30, visitor restrictions are being updated within CRH to become more flexible. Our area is seeing a decline in respiratory illnesses and hospitalizations now that the weather is warming up. We are pleased to downgrade our restrictions on the campus.

▶ This means visitors age 14 and up are welcome at the discretion of the patient’s inpatient care team and room capacity.

▶ Normal Visiting Hours are 8am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm.

▶ Siblings are welcome to visit the Birthing Center to meet their new sister or brother.

▶ Visitors experiencing symptoms of potentially contagious illness are discouraged from visiting to protect the health of patients and staff.

For specific details on the updated visitor restrictions, go our our website ▶▶▶https://www.crh.org/news/2026/03/25/crh-hospital-campus-resumes-normal-visitation

Congratulations to Lauren Beckett, RN OCN, a nurse navigator in the Cancer Center, for being awarded the DAISY Foundation Award!

A grateful patient nominated Lauren by explaining, "Lauren was truly born to be a nurse – there is no doubt about it. She has chosen the perfect specialty and shines brightly in everything she does. Her compassion, understanding, advocacy, and ability to simply get things done made my entire nightmare easier to face. From the very beginning of my diagnosis, I felt that she was in my corner.

"Lauren hand-selected my entire care team and made sure I felt comfortable with every member. During those early, overwhelming days. I met with so many people and was trying to absorb so much information. Lauren took the time to ensure that not only I understood everything, but that my husband did as well. She broke complex information into manageable pieces, held my hand when I needed comfort, and lifted me up when I needed strength.

What makes Lauren exceptional is the way she makes you feel. It’s not just a professional nurse-patient relationship; it feels like being cared for by a friend."

Congratulations to Lance Lemmerhart, our recent Tulips for Techs honoree!!

His nomination reads, "Lance worked with my mother for one day as he was not normally assigned to the floor (5T). Lance works as a tech assisting the nurses. When Lance entered the room and introduced himself to my mother and me, we could tell he genuinely cared. He let us both know that he was there to care for both of us and anything he could do to make matters more comfortable for us, especially my mom, he would do."

If you’re 45 or older, colorectal cancer screening could save your life. It’s simple. It works. And it’s often covered by insurance.

Call 812.579.4541 to schedule colonoscopy directly or go to www.crh.org/colonoscopy to request an appointment.

03/21/2026

There are two screening options for preventing colon cancer - stool testing and colonoscopy. You may not have symptoms, but that doesn't mean you aren't at risk. Prevention is the easiest way to prevent colon cancer.

📆Join Dr. Patrick Barrett on Saturday, March 28th, 2026 at Yes! Cinema as he discusses colon cancer screening options. Doors open at 8:45 a.m., talk begins at 9:15 a.m. 🎬 Followed by a free movie and a small popcorn! 🍿
