Holiday stress is not just about having too much to do - it is often about not having clear boundaries around our time, energy, and emotions. The season tends to magnify what we have been neglecting.

LifeWorks is proud to serve our community through meaningful partnerships, mental health panels, and speaking engagements that open doors to healing and connection. We are here to uplift, educate, and walkalongside our community - especially during seasons that can feel heavy.

Thank you to River of Life Church for asking us to be a part of this panel. We are grateful for our relationship and for the opportunity to share our mission of existing at the intersection of excellence in clinical skills and good sound theology.

If you are interested in watching the panel, you can watch it here:https://www.youtube.com/live/nJzfxfED-MA (the panel starts around the 55 minute mark)

This time of year can get overwhelming fast, so take a moment to think about how you want to remember this season. How do you want to feel after this season is over? Not how you think you should feel... but what you actually need emotionally. Once you have that answer, the next step is choosing things - big or small - that support that feeling. Little shifts can make a big difference!

Sometimes the hardest part of the holidays is not what is happening now, but what is not happening anymore - traditions shift, people leave, families change shape. Even when you are trying to move forward, a part of you still feels the ache of what used to be.

If this Thanksgiving feels different, emptier, or just not like it once did, you are allowed to feel that. You can honor the memories that shaped you while also caring for the person you are today. Both can be true. Both can matter.

The holidays can be beautiful... and a lot for our bodies! Even joyful seasons come with extra planning, emotions, expectations, and stress - and our bodies hold onto all of it.

The good news? You can actually complete the stress cycle and help your body return to safety. Whether it is a walk between gatherings, a deep breath before heading inside, a good cry or laugh, your body deserves to rest. Which cycle-ending skill will you take with you into the holiday season?

On World Kindness Day, we are reminded that empathy and compassion have the power to heal and connect us. May we continue to lead with kindness - in our words, our actions, and toward ourselves.

In this fast-paced world, stress has quietly become a part of our everyday lives. We talk about being stressed at work, burned out from responsibilities, or being overwhelmed by the constant demands of life. Yet many of us rarely pause to understand what stress really means for our well-being.

Stress is the body's natural way of reacting to pressure - it can keep us alert and focused in small doses, but when constant or unmanaged, it can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, or harm our overall well-being.

Every year, National Stress Awareness Day, observed on the first Wednesday of November, serves as a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and reflect on how stress affects both mind and body.

Gratitude is not always easy. Sometimes it is not the sunshine moments we are thankful for, but the cracks that let us grow. Some seasons, gratitude does not sound like "thank you" - it sounds like "I made it through." It is finding small light in heavy days, and still choosing to notice what stayed when so much fell away.

This Thanksgiving, we are learning to hold gatitude not as perfection, but as presence - even when it hurts, even when it is quiet.

Take time to write about what gratitude feels like, not just what you are thankful for. How does it show up in your body, your thoughts, your relationships?
