🍀✨ St. Patrick’s Day Fun in Cambridge! ✨🍀

Our Cambridge residents got into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with some festive crafts, creating their very own shamrock decorations! With a little creativity, colorful tissue paper, and lots of smiles, these lucky little masterpieces came to life.

Activities like this aren’t just fun — they help support fine motor skills, creativity, and memory, while giving residents a chance to socialize and enjoy the holiday together.

Fun Fact: The shamrock is one of Ireland’s most famous symbols. Legend says St. Patrick used the three leaves to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity! ☘️

We’re feeling extra lucky to spend the day crafting and celebrating together. Happy St. Patrick’s Day from our Cambridge community! 💚

Today we’re giving a big shoutout to Danielle from our Waunakee kitchen team! 👏

Danielle brings such great energy to our community. Whether she’s preparing meals, helping the team, or sharing a smile, she makes a positive impact on everyone around her. Our residents and staff are lucky to have someone who puts so much care and heart into what she does every day.

🧩✨ Pieces of Joy in Columbus ✨🧩

Our residents love putting together puzzles, but we kept running into the same question… what do we do with them when they’re finished? After all the time, patience, and teamwork that goes into completing them, throwing them away just didn’t feel right.

So our Columbus community created “Pieces of Joy.”

Each month, residents choose a puzzle they’ve completed and then pick a special member of the outside community to share it with. It’s a simple way to spread a little happiness beyond our walls.

This month’s recipient was Helen, the Columbus Public Librarian, who frequently visits our community and always brings smiles, stories, and joy to our residents. They were excited to return the favor!

What started as a puzzle turned into something even more meaningful — a way to connect, give back, and share a little piece of joy with others in our community. 💛

🧺✨ Laundry Day Memories in Cambridge Memory Care ✨🧺

Today our residents in Cambridge Memory Care spent some time doing a familiar activity — folding laundry! What started as a simple sensory activity quickly turned into a wonderful time of storytelling and reminiscing about raising kids, busy households, and just how much laundry little ones could make.

The ladies had a great time sharing memories and laughing together while keeping their hands busy. Sometimes the most meaningful activities are the ones that feel the most familiar.

Fun Fact: Familiar tasks like folding towels or laundry can help people living with dementia feel a sense of purpose while also stimulating memory and reducing anxiety. It taps into long-held life skills many people performed for decades!

Moments like these remind us that purposeful engagement can be simple, meaningful, and full of memories. 💙

Our Columbus Memory Care residents were deep in concentration during a lively game of bingo! Eyes on the cards and markers ready — everyone was focused and having fun as the numbers were called.

Fun Fact: Games like bingo are more than just fun — they can help support memory, concentration, and hand-eye coordination. Activities that keep the brain engaged are a great way to promote cognitive health while bringing people together for laughter and friendly competition.
