Helping children discover the joy of reading can shape their confidence for years to come.

Recently, Jared Keresoma, VP Administrator for AdventHealth Polk, joined the Rotary Club of Tryon at Tryon Elementary School for the Reading is Fundamental program. By sharing stories and helping students choose books to take home, he helped spark curiosity and a love for learning.

At AdventHealth, a faith-based organization focused on whole-person care, we believe caring for our communities starts early — supporting children as they grow in mind, body and spirit.

Yesterday we honored our Chief Nursing Officer, Maureen Dzialo at her celebration and farewell event — a moment filled with gratitude and love.

After much prayer and reflection, Maureen is stepping away from her role as Chief Nursing Officer at AdventHealth Hendersonville to focus on her health following a second battle with cancer and spend time with her family.

For many, Maureen is more than a leader. She is a nurse, a mentor and a source of hope. Through her own journey, she reminded our community what it means to care for the whole person — body, mind and spirit.

Her impact is felt in every corner of our hospital. From strengthening our nursing culture to lifting the voices of nurses and helping teams care with compassion and excellence, her legacy will continue in the lives she's touched. And her calling continues. Maureen looks ahead to mentoring and guiding the next generation of nurses, helping carry forward whole-person care.

In honor of her impact, the AdventHealth Hendersonville Foundation has made a $65,000 gift in her name to advance cancer care in our community.

Thank you, Maureen, for walking this journey with us and for all you've given to so many.

Alex walked through our hospital from war‑torn Ukraine after learning he had Non‑Hodgkin’s Lymphoma—just weeks after discovering he and his wife were expecting their first child. With limited access to care at home, he courageously secured a medical visa and traveled to the U.S., guided only by hope and a recommendation to our team.

From rapid diagnostics to financial assistance and treatment initiation, our care teams across AdventHealth Hendersonville moved mountains so Alex could begin chemotherapy quickly—with the hope of being home for the birth of his baby this summer.

Alex walks through our doors each visit with a smile and gratitude that inspires us all our team and reminds us of why we love serving our patients.💙

We're recognizing AdventHealth Security Officer, Jack Flood for his commitment to our Love Me Service Standard.

Jack’s commitment to caring for others extends well beyond his daily responsibilities. While assigned to AdventHealth Medical Group Multispecialty at South Asheville, he learned that team members had been dealing with debris and abandoned shopping carts left on the property. Wanting to improve their environment, Jack volunteered his time on a day off to clear the debris and coordinated with a nearby store to have the carts removed.

On another occasion, when an ED patient left the facility against medical recommendation, Jack quickly reviewed video footage, located the patient outside on a frigid day and compassionately convinced him to return to the Emergency Department so he could continue receiving care.

Jack consistently goes above and beyond to support patients, visitors and team members. Thank you, Jack, for living our Love Me service standard every day.

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported and valued 💙

Today, our team and community partners came together to plant our annual Pinwheel Garden at AdventHealth Hendersonville in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Each pinwheel represents hope — and our shared commitment to protecting children and strengthening families across our community.

Through partnerships like Safelight and its Child Advocacy Center, AdventHealth is helping provide compassionate care and critical support to children and families when they need it most.
Prevention starts with all of us. Together, we can create a community where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Today marks a milestone for families in our community.

Our Level II NICU – Special Care Nursery at The Baby Place at AdventHealth Hendersonville is now open, bringing advanced newborn care closer to home for Henderson County and surrounding areas.

As the first and only NICU in the county, this new unit allows families to stay close to their babies during critical moments — reducing the need for travel and providing specialized care when it matters most.

This is more than a new service. It is a commitment to keeping families together while delivering compassionate, whole-person care from the very first breath.

Compassion can change the course of someone’s day.

The Whole Care Experience Celebration is a time to honor team members whose actions reflect AdventHealth’s mission and service standards.

This year’s Love Me Team Winner is the Diagnostic Imaging team at AdventHealth Polk. When a patient facing a cancer diagnosis arrived late for critical imaging, the team stayed late to ensure the tests could still happen that day, sparing the patient weeks of uncertainty.

Their compassion helped restore peace and hope in a difficult moment.

Watch their story and see what “Love Me” looks like in action.

This Doctors’ Day, we’re taking a moment to recognize the care you bring to every patient, every day.

Because of you, people feel seen in moments of uncertainty, supported in moments of need, and cared for in ways that go beyond medicine. Your presence brings comfort. Your expertise brings healing. And your compassion helps people feel whole.

Across our hospitals and clinics in Western North Carolina, we had the joy of celebrating you together. It was a chance to pause, share gratitude, and recognize the difference you make in the lives of so many.

Thank you for the skill, dedication, and heart you bring to AdventHealth, a faith-based organization committed to whole-person care. We’re honored to serve alongside you as we extend the healing ministry of Christ in our communities.
