Empowering Employment is excited to welcome a new instructor to the Greenleaf staff, Cornelius Oatis!

Cornelius was among the first to graduate from the Empowering Employment program. During the program, Empowering Employment supported him on the journey to obtaining a communication device, which will assist him in educating the next generation of job seekers.

Cornelius was a peer volunteer last summer for EmpowerU where he supported high school students with activities. He has also been a guest speaker for Greenleaf, presenting at the Synergy Conference and our annual fundraising gala.

Cornelius brings lived experience to the team and many years of experience as a mentor and recreation aide for students with disabilities.

The Greenleaf team will be collecting nonperishable food items, hygiene products, and holiday toys to donate to the Clintonville-Beechwold Resources Center to support local families.

If you’d like to contribute, you can take your donations directly to the Choice Food Pantry or CRC’s Administrative Office.

We are excited to announce the upcoming graduation of our latest Empowering Employment program participants!

Graduates have been meeting weekly for the past 12 weeks, learning and growing together, and have completed courses on Self-Advocacy, Workplace Readiness, and Job Search 101.

After graduation, they will have the opportunity to join the alumni group to continue toward their goals of community employment.

Congratulations to graduates Matt, Mary, James, Monette, and Charlene! We’re so proud of your accomplishments and looking forward to what’s next in your career journeys!

We will also be hosting a virtual Information Night for our Empowering Employment program on Wednesday, December 10th, at 6:00pm.

Greenleaf is now part of the Kroger Community Rewards Program!

This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day.

Once you link your Kroger Shopper’s Card to Greenleaf, all you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Shopper’s Card at checkout, then Kroger will donate a percentage of your spending to Greenleaf.

How it works:
1. Sign in or create a digital account at www.kroger.com.
2. Go to Kroger Community Rewards in your account.

Greenleaf team members attended the 5th Annual All Disabilities Festival in Columbus this October!

Hosted by Unlimited Possibilities for All Disabilities (UPFAD), the All Disabilities Festival is a family-friendly, inclusive celebration designed to bring together the community for an afternoon of fun, entertainment, and connection.

The event featured music, costume contests, games, giveaways, and more — all centered around accessibility and inclusion for people of all abilities.
