Happy Black History Month ✊🏾❤️💛💚

Black women are 2–3 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women.
Black babies are more likely to be born too soon, too small, and too vulnerable.

This is not accidental.
This is not biological.
This is systemic racism in maternity care.

Black women’s pain is dismissed.
Their concerns are minimized.
Their lives are placed at risk before, during, and after birth.

Yet Black women continue to give life while navigating bias, fear, and unequal care. That is sacrifice. That is resilience. That is history repeating itself in modern form.

Advocating for Black maternal health means:
🖤 Listening to Black women
🖤 Believing Black women
🖤 Protecting Black women
🖤 Providing culturally competent, respectful care

As a doula, I stand in birth justice. I stand for informed consent, bodily autonomy, and safe, supported births for Black families because survival should never be the goal. Thriving should be.

Black history is being born every day.
And we will continue to fight for Black mothers and babies loudly and unapologetically.

I don’t take this role lightly ever. Being able to provide safety, comfort, advocacy, and unconditional support to women during some of the most intense moments of their lives is an honor I’m endlessly grateful for. Four mamas. Four journeys. One doula. 🫶🏽

This picture holds more than smiles it holds stories, strength, tears, breakthroughs, and miracles. I had the absolute honor of being the doula for all four of these incredible women, walking alongside them through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the tender moments that followed.

I witnessed fear turn into confidence.
Pain turn into power.
And love multiply in ways words can’t fully capture.

And then… the bottom photo.

The proof.
The babies who were once heartbeats and dreams are now here, breathing, growing, and surrounded by so much love. Seeing them laid together reminds me why I do this work not just to support births, but to support women becoming mothers and families being born.

This is legacy work.
This is sacred work.
This is community, trust, and love in its purest form.

Forever grateful to these mamas for choosing me, trusting me, and allowing me into one of the most intimate seasons of their lives. I carry each of your stories with me 🤎

AND in the midst of it all, I took a leap of faith and launched my own private doula business.

This year was full of long nights, tender moments, tears, strength, and so much purpose. I am beyond grateful for every family who trusted me to walk alongside them during one of life’s biggest moments.

This isn’t just a job it’s a calling and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come.

Every birth taught me something. Every family trusted me with one of the most intimate moments of their lives, I don’t take that lightly.

As I close out 2025 with a full heart, I’m stepping into 2026 excited, grounded, and ready for new adventures, new families, and new little lives to welcome. The journey is just getting started 💜

🎁 Zha’Mir made his grand entrance on December 15, 2025 at 6:46 PM, weighing 6 lbs 6 oz and measuring 19 inches of pure perfection.

🎁 Zy’awn followed right behind, arriving on December 16, 2025 at 10:26 PM, weighing 7 lbs 6 oz and measuring 20 inches of sweetness.
