On the latest ComForConnections podcast episode, Nora discusses the real costs of home-based, assisted living and nursing home care, and the essential role Medicare should play in covering these services needed by Americans to stay healthy and independent.

Meet the Owner - Columbus Jones

Compassionate Owner, Committed Senior Advocate, Church Deacon

“It excites me when I know we’ve made a difference in their lives – I know we’re on the right track.”

I started working with older adults before I opened my ComForCare location. Starting in 2000, when I became a deacon for my church, I regularly visited those with chronic illnesses, disabilities, as well as aging adults in the community. I talked with them and helped them with simple tasks they may not have been able to do any longer. I experienced firsthand the common challenges of individuals aging without support.

Through my visits, I met a wonderful church member who had been attending services for over 70 years. It was customary for me to visit with them every Sunday to see what was going on, how they may need help and just being friendly with one another. It was a special relationship that influenced my decision to open a home care agency so I can help others in my community.
