Special K Ranch Inc.

Special K Ranch's mission is to "provide family-oriented Christian homes, on a working ranch for adults who have developmental disabilities."

Special K is unique as we offer life-long residency for our ranchers. Special K Ranch is a place where people who have developmental disabilities live, learn, and work with loving caring advisors who are committed to strengthening living skills and building personal and community relationships. This is being accomplished by family oriented living with only four residents in each home. They are receiving guidance from live-in home advisors and learning independent living and vocational skill by being responsible for personal care, household maintenance, ranch production, and involvement in the community. Everyone works together in the horticulture and livestock programs to help the ranch become as self-sustaining as possible. Until these goals are reached, the program will need financial assistance from charitable support.

The residents went to Meadowlark Assisted Living in Columbus to sing them some Christmas carols and enjoy some cookies.

Last Friday, with family by his side, our founding father, Larry Goehner, passed into the loving arms of Jesus. We will always remember Larry for his incomparable kindness, abundance of talent, and for his powerful devotion to serve people who have developmental disabilities. Thank you for touching the hearts of so many, Larry. We will share information regarding Larry’s memorial service when available.
