🌟This might be a long post but so Important to share🌟
In just two days we say “see you later” to someone who has been the heart of our team.
Kelly K, your dedication, kindness, and steady leadership have shaped our workplace in ways that can’t be measured. You’ve mentored, supported, and inspired so many of us.
Thank you for everything you’ve given over the years. You will be deeply missed — but we are so excited for the adventures ahead! Congratulations on your retirement! 🎉
We wanted to ask Kelly some questions about herself, career and her future. See what she has to say below 👇🏼
👀Career reflection
How many years have you been with the organization? Over 24 years
What first brought you to this job? I was in a corporate setting, and I missed all of the great things about private practice.
What are you most proud of during your time here? Our doctors’ reputations and their dedication to the best possible care for our patients.
What will you miss most about working here? Camaraderie, friends, many patients I’ve built relationships with.
What was your favorite role or accomplishment? I loved being a LASIK educator and liaison and helping patients with their questions and fears about surgery or anything reallly. I also loved being a familiar face when patients have come in throughout the years.
❤️ People & culture
Who made the biggest impact on your career here? I can’t decide on just one! I’ve learned a lot from all our doctors and my co-workers throughout the years.
What’s a favorite memory with coworkers or patients/clients? I can’t put my finger on just one memory, but our Christmas parties have all been so much fun!
How would you describe this workplace in one word? Home
🎉 Fun & personal
What are you most excited to do in retirement? Whatever each day brings!
Any travel plans or hobbies you’re looking forward to? No specific travel plans yet aside from visiting family, but looking forward to going to the gym, reading, doing more in Kairos prison ministry, volunteering at a dog shelter, and may even try my hand at painting.
What’s something people at work might not know about you? Hmmmm. I’m pretty much an open book.
Coffee, tea, or energy drinks to get through the day? ☕Coffee, of course!
💬 Advice / legacy
What advice would you give newer employees? Ask questions, learn whatever you can, especially from our doctors. Ophthalmology has been a great career for me.
What message would you like to leave for the team? Always try to find the positive in every day. Negativity so easily takes over but happiness is found in looking for the positives in your day.
How would you like to be remembered here? As a dependable employee, a friend, and a good help and comfort to our patients.
Kelly, you will be greatly missed! This chapter may be coming to a close but you’re about to open a new wonderful chapter! This is not goodbye but see you later!
