April is Alcohol Awareness Month. Research suggest that over 80% of young people ages 10 -18 say their parents are the leading influence on their decision whether or not to drink.

Each Monday in April, we'll be sharing resources from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) “Talk. They Hear You.”® campaign. These resources provide guidance, information and materials for parents and caregivers to use to talk with kids about the risks of underage drinking and substance use.

This past Monday and Tuesday, some of our staff attended the Nebraska Public Health Conference where they had the opportunity to learn from other organizations about innovative ways to strengthen and support their communities. They built meaningful connections and gathered new ideas to bring back and help our own community thrive.

In addition to the learning experience, our team enjoyed some fun bonding time in an escape room, successfully completing the challenge with just one minute to spare!

We’re excited to put what we learned into action and continue growing together as a team while better serving those around us.

El pasado lunes y martes, algunos de nuestros miembros del personal asistieron a la Conferencia de Salud Pública de Nebraska, donde tuvieron la oportunidad de aprender de otras organizaciones sobre formas innovadoras de fortalecer y apoyar a sus comunidades. Establecieron conexiones significativas y recopilaron nuevas ideas para llevar de regreso y ayudar a que nuestra propia comunidad prospere.

Además de la experiencia de aprendizaje, nuestro equipo disfrutó de un tiempo de integración en un escape room, ¡completando con éxito el desafío con solo un minuto de sobra!

Estamos entusiasmados por poner en práctica lo aprendido y continuar creciendo juntos como equipo, mientras servimos mejor a quienes nos rodean.

Beginning April 20th, WIC yogurt options are changing. WIC yogurts must have less than or equal to 16 grams of added sugar in 1 cup.
