Completely hand forged Poppy flower studs in Sterling Silver. I talked a little bit about my process a few posts ago. They measure approximately 10mm in diameter.

I love waiting on a coming storm while working in my studio...the energy building, the perfume of petrichor as droplets start hitting the warm earth...the grounding coolness eclipsing the scorch of high Summer.

Sterling silver + Brandy stripe Citrine

Part of my Nature Nouveau series •○• Hand forged, every element by my hand, from each Ginkgo leaf to the stone setting. Designed with a hidden clasp in the pendant, a small Gingko leaf that detaches on one side. I love that this stone has a beautiful Brandy stripe pattern. Will add some detail images.

Happy Equinox everyone! 🌱🌞 Spring is here! (Even in Ohio where the weather thinks everyday is prank day).

This week has me waking up from a quiet Winter hibernation, a time spent planning, drawing, imagining...germinating like those seeds that need the embrace of darkness to gestate the potential of a future sprout.

My Winter has been spent rearranging my studio/grow space for new photo techniques for my work, and drawing new ideas for potential new pieces...and handling the back end of new and exciting ventures with my other half...and of course garden plans as the time is coming at us fast. Definitely testing the strength of my finger tips making all of these sterling Poppy flowers...and I may not have fingernails for a few months. 😅 Worth it.

They are 100% made by me and start out as sheet metal and silver scraps I cut, texture, torch, solder and shape and texture and torch again 》》》This dark color is fire scale which is what happens when you bring Sterling silver to a certain temperature. They will be cleaned and used to make a couple versions of my poppy stud earrings.

All for stock for the Winter Art Sale on December 7th 🙂 some will be just cute little Poppy flower studs, and some will be studs with stones. They will be stained with sulfur patina to complete the poppy petal shading. with be with me showing my work. It will be nice to see all of the beautiful people, great work and talent that students and alumni bring to this sale.
