NAMI Franklin County’s next Peer-to-Peer sessions are coming up on Jan. 6. NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. The course provides an opportunity for mutual support and growth.

NAMI Ending the Silence involves presentations about mental health and mental health conditions. There are three different types of presentations depending on the audience: students, teachers and staff, or families. NAMI Ending the Silence presentations are given by two volunteer leaders:

a lead person who provides information that helps audience members learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental health condition
a young adult with a mental health condition who shares their journey of recovery.
NAMIFC is currently seeking volunteers for both positions who meet the following criteria:

Have personal experience with a mental health condition and are in recovery, or have experience caring for a family member with a mental health condition
Are comfortable presenting in-person
Have availability to present during school hours
