Through Physicians CareConnection, volunteer providers generously share their time and expertise to help neighbors in our community access quality health care they otherwise might go without.

In 2025, PCC volunteers served 2,652 unique clients through:
812 primary care appointments
604 specialty appointments
204 dental visits
And more

To each of our PCC volunteers, thank you for stepping forward, collaborating across disciplines, and answering the call when care is needed most. Your service is a powerful reminder of what medicine can do when it’s rooted in service.

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the dedicated physicians, medical students, and volunteers who make our community programs and initiatives possible.

Through Made for Medicine these leaders are opening doors and expanding what’s possible for the next generation of physicians. Their commitment goes beyond teaching skills to offer mentorship and show students that there’s a place for them in medicine.

To our program volunteers: thank you! Your impact is lasting, and your service truly matters.

The CMA Foundation is introducing a new series of informational sessions, developed in collaboration with trusted partners, to share practical planned and charitable giving strategies for physicians.

Designed to be informative, approachable, and relevant across career stages, these sessions explore how charitable interests can naturally align with broader financial and personal priorities over time.

Offered as a benefit to the physician community, this series is meant to support those who wish to think more intentionally about how they want their values and impact to take shape in the years ahead.

Through advocacy, education, and service, CMA and our affiliates are elevating physician voices to move our community forward.

Thank you for your leadership and commitment to making a difference!

The Physicians CareConnection is proud to be one of 15 community organizations receiving funding through CelebrateOne's infant mortality initiative, made possible by a $3.4 million grant from the Ohio Department of Medicaid.

This investment will expand the Enhanced Maternal Health Program across Franklin County, strengthening support for pregnant women and families most at risk.

“Every year, our neighbors face barriers to health that have nothing to do with medicine — unstable housing, food insecurity, no way to pay for care,” said Isi Green, MPH, PCC President.

“In 2025, PCC's volunteer physicians and healthcare experts led the way, helping reach 6,919 lives across Central Ohio with coordinated support that addresses the whole person.”

The Columbus Medical Association joined a coalition of state health care provider organizations to share our grave concern about legislation related to preventable disease and vaccination.

“Public health advocates, including physicians and nurses, are deeply concerned that this legislation weakens long-standing, evidence-based protections that prevent disease in childcare and school settings. The existing policies are not punitive. They exist to safeguard classrooms, protect medically vulnerable children, and minimize disruption for families and schools. HB 561 is not about choice, but rather convenience and puts not just children but communities at risk for outbreaks.”

Visit the CMA’s Advocacy Blog for the latest updates to stay current on this legislation and other state issues impacting you and your practice.
