💙✨ Light the World Teal Day at Adult Day Care Medical Program✨💙

Our amazing registrants came together to create a teal and white sand art vase — a beautiful symbol of unity, memory and hope. Each handful of sand represents a story, a strength, a moment of compassion.

As the layers of teal and white blended, they mirrored how our community stands together in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Together, we make a difference.

In recognition of , our participants and their families at the Gurwin Adult Day Care Social Program located at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center came together for a meaningful event dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.

The day featured an inspiring guest speaker who shared valuable insights about recognizing the signs of Alzheimer’s and the many resources available for support. Participants also enjoyed a touching “Journey Through Memories” exhibit, reflecting on the beauty of shared moments and the strength of community.

Together, we honor those living with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones — and shine a light of hope, understanding, and compassion.

Celebrating a milestone dear to all of us at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center!
Today, we honor the incredible Genevieve Fedele, who recently turned 105 years old and showed us what a life filled with love, resilience and joy looks like.

Her favorite saying? “I’m not old, I’m just getting older!” This attitude inspires us every day.

Thank you, Genevieve, for sharing your spirit with us. We’re so honored to celebrate you! Here’s to many more happy years ahead.

Spooktacular Staff Shenanigans at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center! Our boo-tiful staff outdid themselves at this year’s Halloween Parade for our residents! From “Thriller” dancers to the “Titanic” crew, from heroic caped crusaders to the cast of “Gilligan’s Island,” and let's not forget our "Care Bears" the creativity was fang-tastic!

The residents had a howling good time watching all the ghoulishly great costumes. Thank you to our team for making this Halloween un-boo-lievable!

Our participants at the Gurwin Adult Day Care Social Program at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center embraced the spirit of the season, picking pumpkins, getting creative with their decorations and enjoying the crisp fall weather!

From bright paints to fun designs, each pumpkin is as unique as the person who made it. What a wonderful way to celebrate autumn together! 💛

Many thanks to Chef Genevieve and the Gurwin Jewish Fay J. Lindner Assisted Living team for the for the show-stopping desserts! A wonderful night of food, community and connection.

Pumpkin Stroll Fun at Gurwin! Our residents absolutely love the annual Pumpkin Stroll at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and it’s easy to see why! Each year, our talented staff departments show off their incredible creativity by decorating pumpkins in the most imaginative ways.

From spooky to silly and everything in between, the displays are simply unbelievable! Our residents will be voting on their favorite — so stay tuned to see which department takes home the win!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine to our Commack campus today! He met with Stuart B. Almer, FACHE, President & CEO of Gurwin Healthcare System, and Timothy Matejka, Chief Development & Legislative Officer of the Gurwin Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect and discuss our commitment to senior healthcare excellence and community well-being.

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center's 2nd Annual Dog Costume Parade!

Our Simon Rainbow Room was filled with joy as staff and their furry friends strutted down the runway in creative costumes—from a lion and cowboy to a vampire and "jailbird." Residents cheered, shared pet stories and captured memories with their four-legged guests.

After the parade, the dogs enjoyed "pup cups" while residents cuddled and petted them, creating heartwarming moments.

This annual event is part of our commitment to enhancing residents' emotional and physical well-being through engaging recreational programs.

Oktoberfest Fun at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center! We had an amazing time celebrating Oktoberfest with our wonderful friends at the Adult Day Care Health Program! From tasty treats to laughter and good company, it was a day full of smiles, memories and festive spirit.

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center residents had a whisk-tastic time at our Breakfast Club! From Belgian waffles to muffins, and custom omelets with a variety of toast, croissants, and more, this spread was truly a sunny-side-up hit. Chef Bobby and John really flipped, whisked, and served their hearts out! Love seeing everyone batter together and enjoy a morning full of smiles.
