We had a wonderful visit from Farmingdale State College students and professors at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where they spent time with our residents playing bingo, sharing conversations and bringing so much joy to the day.

Our residents truly loved the visit and were so happy to chat and connect. The energy stayed high thanks to an amazing DJ who kept the music going and the fun flowing throughout the event.

It was a heartwarming experience filled with laughter, music and meaningful connection. We’re so grateful for this special partnership and look forward to more visits like this in the future!

The Adult Day Care Social Program participants enjoyed a fun-filled day practicing their swings on the state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators at XGolf Commack while getting into the spirit of the Masters Tournament. From friendly competition to lots of laughs, it was a hole-in-one kind of day!

We love creating opportunities for social connection, recreation and new experiences for everyone in our program.

Thousands of nursing home beds have vanished, and more facility closures are on the horizon, as Medicaid reimbursement has failed to keep pace with the true cost of care.

Eleven nursing homes have announced closure since 2024! It is time to stop the nursing home closure crisis and fully fund nursing home care in NYS.

Nursing homes are closing, and older adults are paying the price. While modest investments made since 2023 have been helpful, they have not been enough to reverse current closure trends or correct over 15 years of stagnant Medicaid funding. Now, the closure crisis is sn*******ng into a catastrophe.

We urge the State to prioritize quality care for older adults by restoring the full 15% in capital cuts and allocating $750 million in NEW Medicaid funding for nursing homes. Helping nursing homes helps hospitals – and aging New Yorkers deserve a long-term care sector and workforce they can depend on.
