The Gurwin Healthcare System is a renowned healthcare provider offering a full continuum of healthcare services for frail and medically complex adults throughout Long Island, NY. Gurwin offers skilled nursing care, short-term rehabilitation, medical/post-surgical sub-acute care, respiratory and ventilator care, social and medical model adult day care programs, hospice and palliative care, home care, Memory Care, acute care and dialysis. Gurwin's 36-acre campus is also home to a renowned assisted living community, Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences, and Fountaingate Gardens, a new and unique independent living community for active older adults. The System also includes it's newest member, Island Nursing and Rehab Center located in Holbrook, Long Island.

We rang in 2026 in style! Our Adult Day Care Medical Program at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center welcomed the New Year with singing, dancing and countdown-worthy fun! Curtis Maxwell had everyone smiling and moving with fantastic entertainment, while festive hats, glasses and horns added extra sparkle to the celebration.

At 105, Genevieve continues to participate enthusiastically in our programs, sharing her favorite motto with staff and fellow residents: "I'm not old, I'm just getting older!"

At Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, our Therapeutic Recreation Department spread some holiday cheer by caroling throughout the units! Residents and staff enjoyed a festive event full of fun, sing-alongs and even a visit from a cheerful snowman.

Calling all needlers, fabric wizards, and stitch masters!

We’re looking for creative crafters to make cozy lap blankets for our residents at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center this winter. Knit it, crochet it, or sew it—stitch by stitch, you can make a difference!

Our Adult Day Care Health Program at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center held its annual Holiday Boutique, and it was a heartwarming success! Participants had the opportunity to shop our holiday store and choose special gifts to give their loved ones this season. To make it even more magical, we offered personal gift-wrapping services!

Many of our participants are unable to shop for gifts on their own, and creating this boutique brings them so much joy and independence during the holidays.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone in our community who donated gifts and made this experience possible. We truly could not have done it without you.

That's the motto of Genevieve Fedele, who celebrated her 105th birthday at Gurwin this October! Surrounded by family, friends, and staff, Genevieve was serenaded with her favorite classics.

Born in Brooklyn, this talented seamstress and dedicated knitter of 60+ years has been an enthusiastic participant in our programs since joining Gurwin in 2022. From musical events to recreational challenges like Yogi's Big Catch, she continues to surprise everyone with her speed and joyful spirit.
