We wanted to let our community partners, funders, supporters and friends know that after 43 years, Kids First Health Care will no longer be providing school nursing services to our partners at Adams County School District 14 (Adams 14).

In a decision by the Adams 14 Board of Education and leadership team, it was determined that Kids First Health Care’s contract will end on December 31, 2025, and the district will manage its own school nursing team internally.

We are deeply appreciative of our long partnership with the district, and we wish them the very best in their new model of school nursing.

Former Kids First Health Care Executive Director, Mrs. Betty Pepin, was instrumental in supporting the establishment of the Kids First Health Care School Nursing Program in Adams 14. Cammy Manning, Kids First’s Director of School Nursing, has served Adams 14 students and families for 25 years!

The need is great. The moment is urgent.

Did you know Kids First Health Care opened Colorado’s FIRST school-based health center in 1978? School-based health centers improve students’ overall health, reduce absenteeism, decrease discipline referrals and increase graduation rates.

As the only school-based health care provider in Adams County, Kids First provides high quality physical and mental health care that is culturally responsive, affordable, and offered during convenient hours within the school.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Kids First Health Care by making a tax-deductible gift during early giving, now through December 9, for !

Your support matters, and every donation helps! I hope you’ll consider a monthly donation to help enable more equitable health outcomes for ALL children.
