Welcome to our Wednesday Wellness series!! Every Wednesday for 8 weeks we are introducing you to another one of our Wellness Team members in an effort to let our students get to know each of them, as well as their treatment styles, a little better!! We asked all 8 of our Wellness Team members to answer the 3 questions found below.
This week we are featuring Mo who offers Deep Tissue Massages on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturdays at BL!!
Introducing Mo…
1) How did you find your way to Body Language?
My husband and I frequently drive past Body Language on our way from Waterford to Walled Lake for his theatre side hustle. One day when I was looking at job openings I stumbled on an opportunity here at BL and I was intrigued that a small-business yoga/fitness studio employed so many wellness professionals, something that is not very common and that I believe is a huge boon for the community. The more I learned about BL, the more I wanted to join and become a part of this inspiring and trailblazing team!
2) What is unique or special about your treatment?
My massage therapy approach is customized around each individual’s needs, preferences, and health. I enjoy receiving feedback in order to tweak my techniques and pressure to perfectly meet expectations and continuously improve. I like to say that I have mastered the art of providing deep tissue massage while also making the session incredibly relaxing; you’ll leave feeling blissfully content and at peace. A few of my signature massage features (at no extra cost, and always optional) include the use of a neck traction pillow, aromatherapy, and foot massage with Bon Vital’ Foot Balm.
3) What is something others might not know about you?
I happen to be a late-identified Autistic and ADHD person, and I am a proud advocate for autistic and other neurodivergent people. Especially for those of us who did not get diagnosed or recognized until later in life as adults. If you are ever curious about autism, ADHD, or anything else regarding neurodivergence and mental health, feel free to ask me anytime. I love talking about this topic and sharing what I know, from both academic study and personal experience, in order to stop the spreading of harmful myths and stereotypes.
I LOVE massages from Mo. Her pressure is firm and steady and just overall amazing. We are SO glad she found her way to us and has become such an asset to our BL Team!! You’ll find her in the Sky room W-Saturday which is the Kids Korner in the am but totally transformed into a very cozy, relaxing room after child care hours. Grateful to have you on board, Mo!!
