Our longest-living resident turned 102 recently! Help us wish Jeanne Harrell a happy birthday.

What's the secret a staying youthful? Jeanne said to live -- just live life fully! Enjoy the life that you have.

She said she never gave much thought to how she'd age before moving to Taylor Glen.

"I just never thought of getting old, where I'd be," she said. "It just never entered my mind. I was too busy living."

Jeanne never lets anything slow her down, learning new skills, like swimming, since she's been living at Taylor Glen and even still taking part in the gardening club.

And she's found a wonderful community at Taylor Glen. Her floor in independent living is made up of some fantastic people, she said. The surprised her recently with a party for her birthday, surrounding her with love and well wishes -- and a beautiful cake and cupcakes.

Congratulations to Brendan Krebs, Executive Chef at Taylor Glen, on being named Executive Chef of the Year by the Senior Dining Association.

Brendan represents what modern senior living dining leadership looks like — engaged, collaborative and deeply connected to community life. He consistently goes beyond the kitchen, building strong relationships across departments and showing up for community and staff events because he believes dining is central to the overall experience, not a separate function.

Whether he’s participating fully in leadership development programs, contributing thoughtfully in meetings or bringing joy and humor to community events, Brendan leads with professionalism and approachability. His willingness to show up — consistently and authentically — has had a meaningful impact on both team culture and resident experience at Taylor Glen.

This award recognizes not just Brendan’s skill as a chef, but the way he leads, supports others and strengthens community every day. We’re proud to see his work recognized and grateful for the example he sets.

At the same ceremony, our Corporate Executive Chef Eric Nooe was also honored.

Please join us in congratulating Brendan on this outstanding achievement.

It’s always a good day to unwind with good food, drinks and music at Taylor Glen!

Yesterday afternoon we kicked the weekend off with a special wine and cheese time serenaded by Jim Cooper on guitar and vocals.

The Taylor Glen team extends their condolences and prayers to the family of team member Allen Barbee, who passed away last week.

Allen served as a maintenance technician, always lending a helping hand with a smile. He worked with dedication and could often be heard walking up and down the halls whistling a tune. He will be greatly missed.

View Allen Dwayne Barbee's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

March kicked off our celebration of the 75th anniversary of ThriveMore -- but we're keeping the momentum going for our entire anniversary year.

Team members all received a special 75th anniversary shirt to start things off -- Taylor Glen team member Cheresa Williams snapped these pics earlier this month.

We'd love you to wear your 75th anniversary shirt beyond the walls of our campuses too. We want to see where these shirts travel this year! Take a photo of yourself out and about (the farther the better) in your shirt and send it to jjones@thrivemorenc.org to be featured on our socials.

At Taylor Glen, we’re always looking for ways to help residents feel confident and connected.

This week, we were excited to kick off ThriveMore’s new partnership with Candoo Tech right here in our community, with in‑person sessions giving residents hands‑on support and guidance with everyday technology. From smartphones to tablets and computers, Candoo Tech is helping residents build skills and confidence at their own pace.
