46 year old Cornelius Taylor was killed inside his tent when an Atlanta Department of Public Works front loader bulldozer crushed it during a city ordered sweep of an encampment. The incident occurred on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, with Taylor suffering fatal injuries, including a crushed pelvis. His family has filed lawsuits alleging negligence by city contractors and nonprofits for failing to check the tent.

Haben was born and raised in Oakland, California, and her work focuses on accessibility in technology, education, transportation, and public policy.

What some call impossible, she proved possible.A deaf and blind woman graduating from an Ivy League college — walking boldly in her purpose. 🙌

This honor is a reflection of the extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege to work with throughout my journey. Congratulations mama

Today marks one full year of my mother’s sobriety after nearly 40 years of addiction. This past year has been an emotional journey for me, but also a beautiful one, because I finally got to see my mother at her best. I was blessed to experience moments with her that I never had my entire life. God is good. Congratulations on your one year of sobriety, Mamma ♥️
