Condition of the Month ⬇️

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when there is excessive pressure or tension that pinches on your median nerve. The median nerve lies within a narrow opening between your wrist bones where tendons, ligaments and nerves run through.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is very common and can cause numbness, tingling, stiffness and pain in your wrist, hand and fingers. It can also make it difficult to hold and pick up items. 😣

Massage therapy can help reduce carpal tunnel pain, inflammation, and range of motion by treating the soft tissues that are directly and indirectly causing entrapment of the median nerve. Once treated, the muscles in the hand and forearms can be developed to improve grip strength.

Meet Bethanie! 🪷

Bethanie has been working in the bodywork field for over 10 years. She graduated from NC Massage School with a certificate in Neuromuscular, Trigger Point Therapy, and Swedish Massage.

Her passion for helping people find freedom from pain has led her to take courses in lymphatic drainage, active release therapy, myofascial release and table Thai. She also has certificates for oncology, prenatal, sports, and medical cupping. 💆‍♀️

Bethanie’s love for massage began in her teens when she started helping a family member find relief from restless leg syndrome. She saw how massage helped better her family member’s life, and knew this would be her calling.

Now, as a licensed soft tissue specialist, she continues to work on building her knowledge of the body and how to help her clients find pain and stress relief.💛

Outside the clinic, you can find her spending time with her husband of 14 years, her 2 children and her 2 fur babies.🐶

Last week, we had the pleasure of sharing what we do here at Stress Medic with all the wonderful employees of Cabarrus County at the Department of Human Services and the Governmental Center for their Spring 2024 Wellness Awareness Day.🫶

It was great to meet so many new people and to help relieve their pain, stress, and tension. We were able to give people a first-hand medical massage experience, while educating them on the benefits of medical massage and the importance of incorporating it into their wellness routines.

Thank you Cabarrus County Government for having us! We can’t wait for next time! ☺️
