We are proud to welcome Dr. Jerome Ramos-Esteban to Concord Eye Center. Dr. Ramos-Esteban is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in the management of patients with both glaucoma and corneal disease. He performs a wide range of procedures, including cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery performing minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and corneal surgery. His dual fellowship training uniquely qualifies him to provide comprehensive care for patients with both glaucoma and corneal conditions. Dr. Ramos-Esteban completed a six-year medical school program at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. He pursued a glaucoma research fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, followed by an internal medicine internship at RWJ Barnabas Health Jersey City Medical Center in New Jersey. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut where he served as Chief Resident and received the Marvin Sears Award for his research in glaucoma. He pursued clinical fellowship training in glaucoma surgery at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Then he performed a second fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute which lasted two-years where he trained in all aspects of cornea surgery.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Ramos-Esteban has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on glaucoma, corneal transplantation and refractive surgery. He has presented his research at national and international conferences, lectured on advancements in glaucoma and cornea care, and contributed to the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Ramos-Esteban provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for both complex eye disease and routine vision needs.

He lives in New Hampshire with his wife and their four sons. Outside of medicine, he is an active golfer and he enjoys writing fictional books.

👀 Here we GROW again!

Concord Eye Center is excited to announce the addition of Pediatric and Adult Strabismus Ophthalmologist, Dr. Purvi Desmarais.

Dr. Desmarais is a fellowship-trained Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus surgeon. She specializes in all aspects of pediatric eye care, including amblyopia, pediatric cataracts, nasolacrimal duct obstructions, dermoid cysts, and strabismus (crossed-eyes). She also treats diplopia and cranial nerve palsies in adults.

Dr. Desmarais was raised on Long Island. After graduating from the Honors College at Northeastern University in Boston, she went on to medical school at the University of Vermont. She continued her training at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY, for her Transitional Year, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Brown University in Providence, RI, where she served as a Chief Resident. She completed her Pediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus fellowship at Vanderbilt Institute. She is an active member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus.

Dr. Desmarais is thrilled to be returning to New England and serving the Concord community! In her spare time, she can be found traveling with her husband, spending time outdoors, or reading a good book.

Concord Eye Center is pleased to announce the addition of Carrigan Gould, OD to our team.

Dr. Gould will be joining the practice on 9/2/25 at our 'South Campus' (2 Pillsbury Street). In addition to primary care optometry, Dr. Gould enjoys working with low vision patients and specialty contact lenses.

Appointments with Dr. Gould may be scheduled by calling the office at 603.224.2020, starting on Monday, 7/7/25.
