Alright, alright, we know, the suspense was too much for us, too: It's DBT for adolescents!

In a new update, just released in the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology on behalf of the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, our own Erika Esposito, Ph.D. and her colleagues found that DBT for adolescents is currently the only psychotherapy that is well-established for reducing teen suicidal ideation, su***de attempts, and self-harm.

Many folks think they've tried , but it turns out what they did wasn't really DBT at all. So, how can you tell if a provider is really doing adherent DBT?

Of course, finding an LBC certified provider or program is a great strategy, but only a small portion of DBT programs are certified. Don't worry though, there are a few simple questions you can ask to determine whether a provider is providing adherent DBT.
