At Om Yoga

At Om Yoga Slow flow yoga for all levels of practitioner. Intuit into it. This slow flow yoga experience is meditation in motion and in stillness.

Simple intelligent sequences of yoga poses are felt in stillness before blending seamlessly together through flow. Deep breaths through the nose (about 3 seconds in, about 3 seconds out, with a one second pause between breaths) set the tempo. We intend to strengthen, stretch, balance, and relax every muscle in the body through this ritual. We intend to oxygenate and illuminate every atom into cahoots, into systemic integration, creating an increased capacity to thrive and shine. These follow the leader style yoga explorations are smooth, quiet and complete. The emphasis is on introspection, intending the poses to align from the inside out, from the felt sensation into authentic embodiment. The stable guide cues each breath in a flow and verbally refines the poses in stillness, cautioning against common misalignments and potentially injurious actions. You may follow the guide to best of your ability. Please feel encouraged to explore the safest most effective postures possible. There are limitless possibilities always. One may assume the pose as it is guided, a simpler variation, or a more challenging expression. There is perpetual potential to personalize the practice into perfection. There is no feeling like this is too hard or this is too easy because the alternative is always encouraged. The perfect pose is a feeling, not a form.

Our Story

At Om Yoga opened on Main Street in 2002. Over the years our style has evolved with spontaneous grace. Classes are generally “follow the guide” in which you as the practitioner simply assumes a pose closest to what is being guided from the center of the room. The vibe is meditative and the instruction is direct, effective, and poetic. The class will have strong elements of fitness focused core and standing flows as well as deep longer holds. This yoga lineage is birthed from an ancient matriarchal tribe of Northern Indian yoga masters. Their philosophy and practices are similar to the Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is integral, alive, and limitless, drawing from many effective spirital paths and practices. It has been passed down to us directly through the grace of a trinity of contemporary tantrik revalators, Parvathi Nanda Nath, Guruji Amritananda Nath and the Dalai Lama. The shakti flow asana practice draws primarily from the marriage of a trinity of contemporary yoga revolutionaries: Shiva Rea, Parvathi Nanda Nath and Jivamukti Yoga's David Life and Sharon Gannon. Classes are for all levels
