Meet: Leanna Patterson, FNP.
Leanna started in Labor and Delivery at Emerson, then moved her way into working with the AFA OB/GYN staff- becoming a provider through all her efforts.

As a provider, Leanna uses her platform to help women make informed decisions regarding their health, be their best self advocate, and education for all.

Today, meet Lesley L Kenney, WHNP.
Being with AFA since the early 2000s, she has continually fostered meaningful relationships with her patients, providing compassionate and attentive care. That same thoughtfulness and dedication are reflected in her personal life, where she enjoys nurturing various plants, flowers and vegetables in her garden.

We’re so proud to celebrate Avery Fisher, CNM, as she begins an exciting new chapter in her midwifery journey! Avery will be transitioning to a full-time laborist role at another hospital—continuing her passion for supporting families in birth.

While we’ll miss seeing her in the office, we’re thrilled she’ll remain part of AFA Obstetrics & Gynecology, continuing to take call and attend births for our patients.

At AFA OB/Gyn, we believe in caring for our community—inside and outside the office. We’re proud to share this thoughtful initiative from Seoul Kitchen (a staff favorite) located in Westford and Leominster, offering free take-out meals Tuesday through Friday for federal employees currently unpaid and for those affected by the loss of SNAP benefits. October is Menopause Awareness Month.
A time to recognize and support the journey that many women experience between the ages of 45 and 55. Transitioning through the end of their reproductive years.
Menopause is a natural phase of life; however, it brings a range of significant physical and emotional changes such as hot flashes, mood shifts, and disrupted sleep. In which these can impact your overall well-being and mental health.
Our team here at AFA, we understand these challenges and are here to provide compassionate, informed care. We’re committed to supporting you through every stage, prioritizing both your hormonal health and long-term wellness.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today, October 17th is also national Mammography Day.
A time to raise awareness, support those affected, and emphasize the importance of early detection and prevention.

If you have a strong family history of breast cancer, it’s important to understand your personal risk. Schedule an appointment with our nurse practitioners, Lesley K. or Leanna P., to discuss whether you may be a candidate for genetic (hereditary) cancer screening or breast cancer risk assessment.

We stand with the survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and support those currently facing a diagnosis. We hold your hand through all the complicated evaluations that are now available.
