November recap!

We had some fun:

🍁Visiting historical things (Navy ship)
🍁Going to the Oakland Zoo
🍁Doing funny skits with friends
🍁Having Thanksgiving with family
🍁And other nice experiences outside of work. 😊❤️

For me, I have another opportunity to show love and be intentional with my words as I meet with others today.

I’m definitely not perfect (and definitely not trying to be)🙃

This was a longer rant because my walks are my times to chill, be mindful, and enjoy the outside.
It just sucks that I allowed comments from someone I don’t know affect my peace and disturb my walking time. How I felt goes a little deeper than that, but I won’t get into that here.

I had to remind myself to be present.
Honestly!
If I didn’t do that then instead of me only enjoying half my walk, I would’ve enjoyed NONE of it.

Just a real life opportunity to practice what I preach. 😅

Gratitude on this Grateful Friday! 🙏🏾

I’m, of course, grateful to spend time with family and friends, eat great food, and play some games with everyone. 🍗🧩❤️

Today though I’m grateful for witnessing resilience. I may have talked about this (resilience) before so I’ll make it short. Someone I know didn’t make the team they wanted to make. I saw them recently and asked what their plans were for the next day. They said, “training.” This person hasn’t given up! They’re actually working on the things they’re not great at.
That 𝗟𝗜𝗧 me up! I was so happy for them and it filled me with encouragement.

Goes to show, you should pay attention to who you hang around with. It affects you more than you think. 🤔

If you’re taking a break this week (a day, a couple days, or the whole week) then ACTUALLY take a break.

If you’re physically on vacation and your mind is on work then you’re not fully present.

Are you actually taking a break?

I’m grateful for the people who check in. Happy Grateful Friday folks! 📞😁

Sometimes, when someone sends a message just checking in and wondering how I’m doing it makes me feel good/loved/seen. It also makes me want to check in with other people.

A beautiful chain reaction. ⛓️

You never know what your message might mean to that person. You might think you’re being annoying when actually you might be giving them exactly what they need that day. ❤️

It’s Grateful Friday! 😁 This will be an example of how simple (but powerful) gratitude can be.

Today, I’m grateful for having a warm breakfast this morning with a cup of coffee. 🥐☕️
It helped me have a good start to the day and allowed me to stay focused and energized for the meetings/tasks I had to complete.

Simple maybe, but that’s the thing about gratitude. If we pause and reflect on these “simple” moments, we can find things we didn’t notice before. Things we may be grateful for.

Try it out! 😉

Awareness of what you do and why you do it can be an important step in changing things for yourself.

One small step you can take could be keeping track of new situations/relationships and noticing (and maybe journaling) what you usually do when these new things come up.

Obviously, self-sabotage can be complicated and can take time to change.

Seeking professional support around this can be exactly what you need. Search for the right person to help you out!

Whether it’s high school, college, or pros, it’s hard to stop doing something you love and probably created an identity around (but you’re more than just an athlete 😉).

When grief comes, it’s normal. Feel it. What you had was real.

Also, in the case of athletes, your life isn’t over now. Now we adjust and see how we apply all the skills we’ve learned to thrive in this thing called life.
