Physician led care teams are at the heart of high-quality healthcare. By working closely with patients, these teams offer well-informed treatment options, comprehensive care, and ensure every decision is grounded in experience and proven practice.

When physicians lead the way, patients can feel confident that their care is safe, effective, and thoughtfully guided every step of the way.

Preventing child abuse and neglect is everyone's job. Don't miss this essential training for healthcare professionals.

Child abuse is common. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused in childhood. Many of the pediatric patients you see have been victimized. If you have adult patients, the prevalence is even higher because when someone experiences child maltreatment, they are more likely to need health care for physical and mental health difficulties throughout their lifespan. Indicators of abuse can be subtle, especially in infants. In this session, you will learn what to pay attention to, how to evaluate concerning signs and symptoms, and how to report suspected abuse and neglect and what happens after you do.
Physicians, APRNs, PAs, and social workers are encouraged to attend.

2-hour Virtual Webinar - Thursday, April 30th from 11am – 1 pm.

During National Public Health Week, we’re reminded that protecting patient health means removing barriers to timely, effective care.
More than 1 in 4 physicians report that prior authorization has led to a serious adverse event for a patient in their care—an alarming reality that puts red tape ahead of patient well-being.
Dr. Bruce A. Scott, former President of the American Medical Association, underscores the importance of keeping treatment decisions where they belong:
“The patients and the physicians work together to develop a plan, and they know what is best for them. The insurance company should not be inserting themselves into that relationship.”
New Hampshire Medical Society is standing up for patients and physicians—working to reduce unnecessary delays and ensure care decisions stay between patients and their doctors.

This , we are celebrating the physicians who are at the heart of public health.

A physician’s years of education uniquely position them as leaders in the health care sphere. Physicians support their patients, guide care decisions, and build trust in critical health measures like childhood vaccinations.
Data shows that almost 90 percent of New Hampshire residents support childhood vaccination requirements, which highlights the vital role that physicians play in educating the public, and advocating for community health. Conversely, the ongoing conversations around vaccine requirements highlight just how important the physician voice is when considering medical decisions and care.
During , we celebrate physicians not just for the care that they provide, but for the leadership that they bring to strengthening community health.

GOVERNOR REJECTS EXPANDED SCOPE OF PRACTICE FOR OPTOMETRISTS: HB349.

Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte affirmed the critical role of New Hampshire ophthalmologists and underscored the importance of rigorous education, specialized training, and clinical expertise in ensuring the highest standard of patient care across the state.

“The reality is that ophthalmologists, who complete a minimum three-year residency after medical school, receive far greater supervised clinical and surgical training than optometrists. Laser eye surgeries are not minor procedures” said Governor Ayotte in her March 27th press release.

The New Hampshire Medical Society thanks Governor Ayotte for her commitment to high-quality healthcare for all Granite Staters. We also recognize the vital work of New Hampshire ophthalmologists in delivering innovative medical solutions and expanding access to care, particularly in rural communities.
