Happy National Doula Week! I had the pleasure of being present at the beginning stages of Madisyn's labor. She chose to do a bath with me at her home until she felt she needed to go to the hospital. At the hospital, I had her use a comb for pressure when her contractions came; we also used the rebozo and deep pressure on her back and belly. Congratulations, Madisyn, on the birth of Harley!

What a beautiful thing to do!

There was a special delivery at The Family Place this week — one representing kindness, compassion and gratitude.

A couple who previously experienced the loss of their baby during pregnancy, returned to The Family Place to donate a cart stocked with comfort items for families experiencing fetal loss. The cart, featuring their late son's name and an elephant with wings, includes adult and children's books on grief and loss, lotions, swaddle blankets, plush toys, bracelets and other items intended to help families preserve the memory of their babies. The couple expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the care and comfort they received throughout their pregnancy and during their stay at the Family Place. 'Share' for providing comfort and support to families experiencing fetal loss.
