We didn’t take the pacifier away — we gave it a place 💎

Creating a “Pacifier Parking Spot” was all about slowing the process down, honoring comfort, and building independence without power struggles.

Instead of “no more paci,” we focused on:
• predictability
• choice
• visual support
• and emotional safety

One small routine. One consistent spot. Big regulation wins.

Progress doesn’t have to be loud … sometimes it looks like a quiet place to park comfort. 🤍

✨ Celebrating 10 Years of Excellence ✨

As of November 2025 we can proudly celebrate JoAnne Lamphier, COTA/L and her 10-year anniversary with Life Touch Therapy 🎉💚🩵

Over the past decade, JoAnne has built a great reputation for our company in Iredell County, continuing to serve families with dedication and heart. Her leadership has shaped not only our services, but our team—mentoring countless Level II students, many of whom were inspired to stay on and grow their careers with Life Touch Therapy.

JoAnne has played a key role in the growth of our company by helping develop an administrative role, supporting expansion, and continuously finding ways to elevate the therapists around her. From providing a hands-on CEU feeding course to being honored as Distinguished COTA for North Carolina at the NCOTA Fall Conference, her impact reaches far beyond our clinic walls.

As JoAnne shared, “The past 10 years have provided me with so many great opportunities, and I am so happy to be a part of our Life Touch Therapy company and family.”

We couldn’t feel more grateful to say the same right back to her.

Today’s activity looks super simple, but it’s actually doing a lot behind the scenes!!

Kids match the symbol on the table—a line means their hand goes out straight, and a circle means they make a little fist.
We switch between left and right sides to challenge coordination, visual-motor integration, and focus.

And here’s the fun sciencey part: research shows that tasks requiring quick visual attention + motor planning activate the same brain networks that support self-regulation. Translation?
Activities like this help kids channel their energy, improve body control, and reduce impulsive movements over time.

OT-approved. Kid-approved. Wiggles… not so approved.
