During Black History Month, we honor Lois Curtis — a self-advocate whose courage changed history.
Because of her role in the landmark Supreme Court decision Olmstead v. L.C., people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the right to live, work, and thrive in their communities — not institutions.
Her story reminds us that one voice can change systems. One voice can change laws. One voice can change lives.
Today, we continue that legacy through action. Join The Arc New York’s statewide calling campaign to protect critical funding and ensure community inclusion remains a civil right — not just a promise.
When we raise our voices together, change happens.
