Graveside service
Saturday, April 11, 2026, 11:00 A.M.

Former Conneaut resident Carrie Lee Gregory, 96, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She was born November 19, 1929 in Westfield, NY, the daughter of Waldron and Thelma (Smith) Rhinehart.
Carrie graduated from Lawrence Park High School in 1948. She married the love of her life Donald Gregory October 2, 1949 and after his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, they moved to Conneaut where she began working at Browns Fish Resort. She later became a trimmer for Hercules Packing Company, where she remained until 1981. Afterward, she then worked as a housekeeper at Brown Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1987.
She was a devoted member of her community, serving as past president of the Neal Post #743 American Legion Auxiliary in North Kingsville. She gave generously of her time, volunteering at the hospital thrift store, assisting with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, and serving as treasurer of the West Wind HOA.
She loved crocheting, crafting, and reading, and she especially cherished her winters in Florida. Her pies became a beloved family tradition—every Thanksgiving she made sure each person received their favorite, whether that meant baking ten pies or twenty five. Her flower gardens were another source of joy; she had a remarkable green thumb, and wherever she lived, beautiful blooms followed.
Carrie was also gifted in ceramics. With her own kiln, she created countless pieces for her family, each one made with care and creativity. She was deeply artistic.
Survivors include her daughter Gayle Daniels of Madison, sons Clifford (Debbie) Gregory of Henderson, NV, and Mark (Pam) Gregory of Greensboro, NC, grandchildren Dianna (Bill) Narotski, Donald E. (Alison) Gregory, Anita C. Gregory, Margaret Gregory, Rebecca (Joe) Kaylor, Kathleen (Robert) Calkins, Jennifer (Jenna) Phipps, Ron (Melissa) Phipps, Candice Phipps, Benjamin Gregory, Gregory (Amanda) Church, and Steve (Jessica) Church; 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald Gregory; daughter Susan Church and her husband David Church; infant twin-brothers; her sister Lois Brown, and brother W. Brook Rhinehart; and son-in-law Ken Daniels.

Keith L. Hawn, 77, of Kingsville, OH passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1948, in Kingsville, Ohio to the late Charles and Vivian (Anderson) Hawn.
Keith grew up in Kingsville, graduated from Edgewood High School in 1966, and served on the class reunion committee. In 2023, Keith was inducted into the Ashtabula Touchdown Club Hall of Fame for his high school football achievements as a 5’8” 140-pound offensive guard and linebacker.
In January of 1969, he was drafted to the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War in the 9th Infantry Division, conducting riverine operations in the Mekong Delta. While serving in the Army, he received many medals and badges including the Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Badge (Rifle M-16, Rifle M-14), SpS Badge (M-60), National Defense Service Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Combat Infantry Medal before his honorable discharge in January of 1974.

Following Keith’s discharge from the United States Army, he worked for Premix Inc. in North Kingsville where he was a dedicated employee in the shipping and receiving department for thirty-five years. Retirement did not last long, as he went to work for Ashcraft Industries for nine years, where he found his true passion until his health forced him to retire at the age of 70. Keith served as a volunteer firefighter for nearly fifty years for the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Department, where his father had served as chief in years past. Keith was also a township trustee.
He had a love for the outdoors, doing yardwork, playing golf, fishing with his friends or granddaughters, and coaching Little League softball for his daughter. Keith and Janet spent many wonderful seasons making lasting memories with their family camping at Kenisee Grand River Campground. Most of all, he loved and cherished his time being “Papa” to his two beautiful granddaughters whom he was so proud of.
Keith was a man of integrity with a heart larger than life. Without hesitation, he would help anyone in need expecting nothing in return. Keith was fun-loving, compassionate, positive and witty. A humble, gentle man, as most would say.
