Well it's that time of year...again. Family, food, decorations, gifts and Mariah Carey. 😆

Those of us who work with energy believe in the seven major energy centers of the body called chakras. It's like an energy super highway that starts at the top of the head down to the base of the spine. They regulate our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

These energy centers can become blocked especially when we experience something negative or traumatic. If we could see our chakras they would look like spinning disks. Each one has its own color. The three lower chakras represent our basic human needs. Those are the chakras that most commonly get stuck or blocked.

As an example the Root (color is ruby red) chakra is associated with safety and security in the world, which includes financial security. Keeping the Root chakra open and clear helps us feel safe, secure and abundant.

I use tuning forks in every Reiki session specifically designed for each chakra to balance and help with the flow of energy.

Use the treatment below while focusing on the Root chakra. Close your eyes and "see" the ruby red disk. Is it spinning clockwise? Is the color bright and beautiful like a ruby? If not it needs some work. How do you feel? Are you worried or in fear around finances? These feelings can block that flow.

I wanted to take a few minutes to address some of the changes you may be currently noticing at YHL. Such as: modified boutique hours, less classes & modified service schedules. We have also permanently stopped selling gift cards, class packs, and sauna packages.

YHL is changing, reworking & transitioning! The exact next step isn't laid out fully but for now I'm watching, listening, and discerning.


Change can be heavy on the heart even when you know it’s the best next step. The last 18 months have been challenging as a small business, however this is not the only reason to take my business in a new direction.

Please know this decision wasn't made lightly.

I am currently working towards downsizing YHL. I am planning to find & move into a NEW space in 2026. After December, we will no longer offer retail. All service appointments will continue by appointment only. Services can be booked online. If you are trying to book a massage with me (Emily) and cannot find a time that works please message our business page. If I can not accommodate you, I will gladly direct you to another amazing practitioner in our area! We are blessed to have a few! ** No I don't think there are too many businesses "just like" mine, as I firmly believe that there is always enough for everyone!

Yoga & Barre classes will still be happening! Scheduled Saturdays & pop up Thursdays.


You will all know way in advance when I decide on the next physical location of YHL with no disruption in any service appointments or classes.

The last 10 years have been my favorite wild ride and I’m looking forward to what comes next!
I have my eyes open for a new location, my heart open to opportunities, and I release all the pieces that no longer resonate with my business goals. I have the deepest gratitude to each & everyone who has ever come into YHL. I consider my business as successful as ever! I created something from my soul and shared it with you all for so many years! Now I have the chance to rework & recreate it so that I can continue to show up as authentic as possible for the next 10!

I love all my regulars and can't thank you enough for trusting me with your energy. Making folks feel comfortable, safe and secure is a big priority. I am always delighted when someone comes to see me for the first time.
