Phyllis Carson-Cozort of Richmond passed away unexpectedly on Monday April 20, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born in Clendenin, West Virginia on February 18, 1942, to Russell N. and Gladys (nee: Forman) Estep.
She graduated with the class of 1960 from Clendenin High School. While living in West Virginia, she was a Kitchen Design Specialist. In 1990, she was united in marriage to Stanley Cozort in West Virginia. They share 35 years of marriage prior to her passing.
Phyllis lived in East Tennessee for several years where she had friends and loved ones. She moved to Richmond, IN in 2017 to be near her daughter, Michelle. She enjoyed antiquing, thrift store shopping, and her flowers. Most importantly, Phyllis loved spending time with her friends, family and extended family.
Besides Stanley, her loving husband, her love and memories will be cherished by her son, Mark (Julie) Carson of Clendenin, WV; daughter, Michelle (Randy) Gray of Greens Fork, IN; grandson, Justin Campbell of Sissonville, WV; nine great grandchildren, as well as several special nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Linda Tutle, Eleanor Barnhouse and Daniel Boone Estep; a grandson, Matthew S. Campbell and a nephew, Daniel Lee Estep II.
Respecting and honoring Phyllis’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Shirley M. Houston passed away at Reid Hospital, Richmond, IN, after a brief illness on Monday April 13, 2026, at the age of 66. Shirley was born in East Bernstadt, Kentucky on October 11, 1959, the daughter of the late Roy Bleve and Norma Jean Hibbard Houston.
Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother that enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved to travel, feeding the birds, sitting on her porch watching the birds, and was an avid game player and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Above all she loved to spend time with her family. Over the years, Shirley worked in factories and environmental services at different nursing homes while she lived in Ohio.
Her love and memories will be cherished by her sons, Roy (Nicole) Houston and John (Angela) Needham; sisters, Patricia Sue Houston-Trauthwein and Debra Lynn (Richard) Houston-Moore; sister-in law Zella McQueen; grandchildren, Roy (Emma) Houston, Alexis Houston, Breana Houston, Lillie Houston, Connor Houston, Lucy Houston, Jordan McFall, Logan Parsons, Jaylynn Parsons, Tiffany Houston, Tessa Houston, Sarah Houston, and Richard Houston; great grandchildren, Bentley, Jackson, Raelynn, Carter, Everleigh, Dream, Hazel, Nathiel, Damien, and Paisley, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Richard L. Houston; brothers, Roy B. Houston and William Gene Houston and a brother-in-law, Paul Trauthwein.
Keeping with Shirley’s wishes, cremation was chosen. She will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky at the family’s convenience.

Rodney Piatt, 66 of Liberty passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at home after a brief illness.
Born on June 4, 1959 in Richmond, Indiana. The son of the late Ruth Piatt Griffith and the late Bob Dees.
On December 27, 1976 he was united in marriage with the former Peggy Harvey in Liberty, Indiana. They shared 49 years of marriage. Together they attended Crosspointe Biker Church in Connersville, Indiana.
Rodney was looking forward to retire this spring. He was employed at Integrity Metals in Connersville for 16 years as a semi driver. He had various jobs throughout the years.
He served from 1976 to 1978 in the United States Army.
Rodney enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, Shawn (Ashley) Piatt and Rachel (Barry) Hann; grandchildren, Allannah Piatt, Natalee Piatt, Alexis Hann, Holden Piatt and Mason Piatt; his siblings, Amelia (Jay) Eliton, Brenda (Greg) Keeton, Sarita Overton, Alicia Fields and Pamela Bowlin; sister in law, Mary (Mitch) Pierce; brother in laws, Gary (Nannette) Harvey and Steve Harvey; and sister in law, Sheryl Weller; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Dees and brother in law and friend, Thomas Harvey.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St., Liberty, Indiana 47353. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery.

Sara Ann Isaacs, 66 of Connersville passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 25, 1959 in Connersville to Charles Mengedoht and Betty Scott Mengedoht.
Sara worked at Sperry and Rubber Plastics for 30 years.
She was the heart of her family, the one everyone turned to for comfort, guidance and unconditional love. Sara could often be found watching TV, especially her favorite murder mysteries. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness to her days.
Above all she was known for her selflessness. She was the one who took care of everyone, always putting others first. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Sara is survived by her daughter who was also her care giver, Angel (David Drew) Shepard; her grandchildren, Tyler (Krisynda) Shepard and Drew Shepard; her great grandchildren, Paislee Shepard and Silas Shepard; her siblings, Terry Mengedoht, Joe (Sarah) Mengedoht, Gary (Sharon) Mengedoht and Teresa Mengedoht.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Charles Mengedoht, John Mengedoht and Russell “Dean” Mengedoht; her granddaughter, Erika Shepard; and her great granddaughter, Serenity Anjel Reid. .

Andy Belt of Connersville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 8, 2026, at the age of 61. Andy was born on December 14, 1964, in Cincinnati, OH, one of eight children born to Revena Sue (Smith) Belt and the late Claude “Doc” Belt, Jr.
Andy graduated from Connersville Sr. High School with the class of 1984. He was a member of VFW and AmVets. Currently, he worked as a caregiver for CRF. Over the years he has worked with J & J Packaging, tending bar at Huffy’s and Fantasy Inn, in the dietary department at Fayette Memorial Hospital and as custodian at Connersville High School.
Outside of work, Andy found joy in the simple things. You could find him relaxing by playing country or southern rock music on his guitar or enjoying bingo. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Red and Indiana University Basketball. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
His love and memories will be cherished by his mother, Sue Cooksey; daughter, Brandi Jones; grandchildren, Austin Jones, Jayci Brockman and Jamason Hall and a great grandson, Jaylon Jr. He will be thought of often by his brothers, Denver (Janet) Belt and Elvis (Lisa) Belt; sisters, Sherry (JR) Mullins, Marilyn (Mark) Pollitt, Brenda (Charles) Gradeless, Lisa (James) Callahan and Angela Bunch; step-brother, Chris Cooksey; uncle, Ronnie Smith; aunts, Copalee Belt and Glenna Doulin; a cousin Wanda, who was raised like a sister, as well as many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Lavodis Ann Jones passed away on Wednesday April 8, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. Born on April 26, 1939, in south Charleston, OH, she is the daughter of the late Lones Lewis and Jewel Phillips Lewis Ferguson.
On August 29, 1970, she was united in marriage to Casey Jones in Connersville, IN. they shared 37 years together prior to his passing in 2007.
She was a Mary Kay representative for over 30 years. She was proud of being one of the biggest representatives in eastern Indiana. She also was a waitress at the White Cottage, Open Hearth, and Connersville Country Club. Lavodis was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and embordering. She was known as a very talented seamstress. She would make her own clothes, wedding dresses or whatever was needed.
Her love and memories will be cherished by her son, George Adams; stepchildren, Teresa G. Colter, James E. Jones and Ira Lee Jones; sisters, Mona F. Matthews, Yvonne R. Mercer, Shirley Ramey and Judith Jones; half-brothers, John Lewis and Ronnie Williams; as well as many nieces, nephews and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Adams, and stepsons, Greg G. Jones, Jonathon ‘Randy” Jones and Darrel C. Jones.

David L. Siefert of Connersville, passed away on Monday April 6, 2026, at Reid Health in Richmond at the age of 84. David was born on February 18, 1942, in Connersville, the son of the late Lowell J. and Mildred V. (Wiley) Siefert.
In June of 1986 he was united in marriage to the former Nancy L. Revel in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared 39 years of marriage prior to her passing on April 5, 2026. Together they attended Connersville Baptist Temple.
David retired in 2004 from Roots Blower after 31 years of faithful service. From 1966 to 1973, he was the owner/operator of Dave’s Mobil Gas Station, worked at the Marathon Stations on 3rd & Central and on the “Fill”, Bonded Gas Station and Shell on 30th Street. He also worked at Western Auto, and Advance Auto Parts and was the Service Manager at BF Goodrich. He enjoyed going to car shows to admire the classic cars and muscle cars, going to the races and demolition derby’s, and was known as an excellent mechanic.
He was a member of the Whitewater Valley Cruisers, Sertoma, Jaycee’s, Knights of Columbus, Lion’s Club, Moose, Eagles, and the American Legion Post 1 Auxiliary. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Those surviving who will cherish his memories are his children, Melissa Siefert, Jeff (Patty) Siefert, Greg Siefert, Ron (Linda) Stevens, Bobby Siefert and Christopher “CJ” (Elizabeth) Siefert: grandchildren, Vanessa Siefert, Ashtyn (Jason) Murdock, Makenzy Hamilton, Madilyn (David) Mitchell, Mason Hamilton, Ashton Robert Siefert, Drake Brenden Siefert, Christopher (Elayna Miller) Siefert, Crystyn (Michael Newton) Siefert, Cyle Siefert, Chyann (Andrew) Wayne, and Zachery (Tina) Stevens: and eight great grandchildren, with one on the way. He will be in the thoughts of his brothers, Bobby “BJ” (Penny) Siefert and Richard (Jane) Siefert, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son, David Lee Siefert, Jr., a granddaughter, Morgan Hamilton, and brother and sister-in-law, Max (Kay) Siefert.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday April 17, 2026, at Dale Cemetery.

Nancy L. Siefert passed away at the home of her daughter on April 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Nancy was born in Connersville on May 7, 1940, the daughter of William L. and Ida R. (Mitchell) Revel.
In June of 1986, she was united in marriage to David L. Siefert in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared 39 years of marriage prior to her passing. She and David attended Connersville Baptist Temple.
Throughout the years, Nancy had worked for Economy Drugs, Hedges Drug Store, in the cafeteria of Philco Ford, Village Pantry, Fashion Bug, Jake Frantz Jewelry Store and she retired after several years from JC Penny’s. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed sewing, gardening, sudoku puzzles, and watching the hummingbirds and butterflies. She enjoyed the times that she spent with her family. She was a member of Future Homemakers of America and Whitewater Valley Cruisers.
She is survived by her husband David. Her memories will be cherished by her children, Beth (Jim) Peace and Ronald (Linda) Stevens; five grandchildren, Ashley (Kyron) Arnell, Brittani (Charlie) Siegfried, Sumer Rose, Courtney (Steve) Violette and Zachery (Tina) Stevens. She also has 17 great grandchildren and is survived by her sister Bonnie Revel, and son-in-law Bob Jasper.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond Revel, Betty Revel, Wilma Sandlin, Martha Lindsey, Evalina Shafer and Barbara Shafer, and her son Max Stevens.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday April 17, 2026, at Dale Cemetery.

Tracie Renee Harry, 57 of Connersville passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1968 in Connersville to Wayne Edward Harry and Linda Witt Blaes.
Tracie was a 1986 graduate of Connersville High School.
On Sundays she enjoyed attending church with her daughter, Carmen at First Baptist Church in Connersville.
In her younger years she was known for her athleticism, she enjoyed playing sports. Tracie had a heart as big as they came, always ready to lend a hand, offer kind words and simply just be present with those who needed her. She found happiness in watching the Food Network, though she enjoyed watching the creativity of cooking she was quick to admit the kitchen was not her favorite place, except when it came to a good plate of pasta.
Tracie loved her animals. Her greatest joy in her life was her family. She cherished the time spent with them, creating many memories filled with laughter, comfort and unconditional love.
Tracie is survived by her mother and step father, Linda (Rodney) Blaes; her significant other, Michael King; her daughters, Haylee Saylor and Carmen King; grandchildren, Andrew and Layne; her sister, Lori Bunch; step sister, Michelle (Will) Caldwell; step brothers, Chad (Amber) Blaes and Michael Blaes; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Tracie was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Harry; and her bothers, Eddie Harry and Chad King.
Visitation for Tracie will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. 8th St., Connersville, Indiana 47331. Clyde L. Mason of the Columbia area, passed away on Saturday April 4. 2026 at the age of 85. Clyde was born at home in rural Fayette County on October 14, 1940, the son of Lloyd Cecil Mason and Virginia A. Jones Mason.
Graduating in 1960 from Connersville High School, he furthered his education at Purdue University, attaining a bachelor’s degree in forestry in 1964. After graduating from Purdue, Clyde went to work as a Landscape Architect for the Indiana Department of Transportation, retiring after 44 years of service. He had won many achievement awards from the State of Indiana, and he was most proud of the Turney Hernadez Award in Excellence he received from the National Roadside Vegetation Management Association for the work he did while employed with Indiana Department of Transportation.
Clyde also worked for Connersville Lumber Company, served as Fayette County Surveyor and most recently was co-owner/operator of Mason Slagle Christmas Tree Farm.
On May 5, 1965, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former, Betty Schocke. They share close to 61 years of marriage prior to his death and were blessed with two children.
At the age of 10, Clyde developed Polio. He was a funny and wonderful example to all, showing just what a handicapped person can accomplish. He did not let his disability stop him. He enjoyed working on his computer, going to tractor shows, auctions or relaxing while fishing. He loved history, especially the Civil War, WWI and WWII. He also enjoyed attending the monthly roundtable meeting at the Fayette County Historical Museum. Together with Betty, they traveled to all the states except for Hawaii.
Clyde loved his family deeply and he will be missed by his wife, Betty; son Joe (Marie) Mason; grandchildren, Samantha (Brad Knochelmann) Mason, Paige (Jailen Hundley) Mason, Amanda Mason and Molly Mason; and great grandchildren, Abrielle Maggard, Dorothie Lange, Ezekiel Lange, and Evie Hundley. His memories will be cherished by his siblings, Monty Mason Anita Kendall, and Martha Mason, sister-in-law, Kathy Mason, as well as many cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son David Mason, grandson, Easton Maggard, brother, Brad Mason, sister-in-law Linda Mason and brother-in-law Andy Kendall.
Clyde will be missed by all that loved and knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Columbia Church.

Sylvia M. Kerr, 84 of Connersville passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026. She was born on October 20, 1941, in Ary, Kentucky to Bertis Noble and Margarite Kelly Noble.
On April 3, 1971, she married John Sullivian Kerr. They were married for 25 years before he passed away on November 28, 1996.
Sylvia worked at Ford in Connersville for many years before retiring.
Sylvia found happiness in life’s quiet and meaningful moments being outdoors. She enjoyed listening to the comforting sounds of blue grass moments and old country. You could often find her watching her favorite tv shows, such as Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, she was always eager to test her knowledge. She was an avid reader, especially when it came to romance novels.
Most importantly Sylvia was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her time spent with her loved ones.
Sylivia is survived by sons, Charles Hundley II and Nathan Kerr; her daughter in law, Linda Gray; her grandchildren, Adam Hundley and Haley Hundley; great grandchildren, Peyton and Savanna Hundley.
Along with her parents and husband, John; she was preceded in death by her siblings, Buddy Noble, Hershelene Wright, and William Noble; grandson, Jacob Hundley; great granddaughter, Isabella Hundley.
