Carolyn Marie Spears, a resident of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 26, 1947, Carolyn was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
Carolyn was a longtime employee and retired from Sample House. Her dedication and hard work were evident throughout her career.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Nace and Rettie Allen Nace, and her husband, Richard Berry Spears.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Shannon Spears and wife Nancy of Hickory; daughter, Tina Hedrick and husband Ray of Hickory; sister, Gail Tester of Vilas; grandchildren, Matthew Hedrick and Ryan Hedrick of Hickory, Allyson Ray and husband Nathan of Asheboro, Nicholas Spears of Hickory; and one great-granddaughter due in February 2026. She is also survived by her nephew, Derrick Tester of Vilas; niece, Amy Lewis and husband Brad of West Jefferson, along with a number of extended family and friends.
Carolyn was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hickory, NC, where she was actively involved in the community.
Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hickory, NC, on December 23, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location, beginning at 12:00 pm with Pastor Mark Seaman officiating.
The final resting place will be at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Hickory.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hickory NC.

Ruth Jonas Tyndall, 84, was born on April 6, 1941, to the late Butler Stephenson Jonas and Effie Ellen Bentley Jonas. She passed away on November 21, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister, a grandson and a great grandson.
Ruth is survived by husband of 46 years, Earl Tyndall; son, Wesley Auton; daughters, Lisa Woodring and husband Jimmy, Kristi Ward and husband Wayne, and Jody Friend; sister, Faye Jonas and husband Randy Roether; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, prior to the service.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 1 pm at Friendly Baptist Church 564 Friendly Church Rd Taylorsville NC 28681, with Pastor Derek Jonas officiating.

Linda Grant Charles, born on November 15, 1950, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 74. A resident of Catawba, North Carolina, Linda was a cherished member of her community and a beloved figure among her family and friends.
Linda retired from Raytheon Engineer and Constructors after an impressive 35-year career. Throughout her life, she was deeply involved in her community, serving as a Trusty for the Town of Catawba Historical Association and as a former member of the planning board for the town of Catawba.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, James Keith Charles, her stepsons, Jay Charles, Ben Charles, and Jason Charles, her brother, James William Grant Jr., and a number of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Receiving will be held at Catawba United Methodist Church in Catawba, NC, on November 15, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm. Following this, A Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue, beginning at 1:00 pm.
Linda will be laid to rest at Catawba United Methodist Church in Catawba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Town of Catawba Historical Association or the Catawba County Humane Society.

Donald Ray Honaker, 68, was born on November 7, 1956, to the late Thomas Edward Honaker and Virginia Lee Dickerson Honaker. He passed away on October 29, 2025, at Carolina Caring.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Honaker and Edward Honaker; sisters, Helen Reckard, Fannie Mitchem and Dolly Hurt.
Donald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Connie Cooper Honaker; sons, Donald Ray Honaker Jr., and Kevin Honaker; daughters, Krystal Tarlton and Zena Honaker; brother, Danny Honaker; sisters, Connie Williams, Kathy Mitchem and Barbara Corbett; grandchildren, Alexis Dellinger, Katelynn Greene, Faith Kiser, Devin Honaker, Zack Honaker, Summer Honaker, Evin Honaker, Levi Honaker, Heaven Honaker, Maci Honaker, Cindy Honager and Xavier Honaker; great grandchildren, Joelle Greene, Grayson Dellinger, Harper Dellinger, Charlie Dellinger and Rylan Kiser.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
