Claire Louise Pollard, ACNP, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner
In 1992, Claire Pollard began her nursing career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). In 2002, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked in surgical trauma and intensive care units. Today, she is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) and has subsequently gained extensive experience working in urgent care facilities. Additionally, for 10 years, Claire Pollard served as an enlisted soldier in the US Army Reserve Medical Unit and completed a 1-year assignment in Landstuhl, Germany providing critical care to wounded soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Her experience treating patients in critical care has made it apparent to her that acute and chronic depression and anxiety is a problem that does not discriminate based upon gender, income, or any other descriptor.
Having used ketamine for years in the Emergency Room situations as a sedative, Claire knew that ketamine was safe and effective in a wide range of applications, and she believes that it can be the key to giving patients the help they need to improve their overall health and wellness. She aims to give her patients the tools they need to be successful and truly be well, whether that means directing patients to ancillary mental health services or helping them with a nutritional issue. Always and unwaveringly, her goal is to help as many patients as possible.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating for patients and healthcare workers alike, and she knows that the impact ketamine therapy offers for providing relief from mental health struggles can literally save lives. She has allowed the devastation she’s seen firsthand to act as driving force behind her motivation to help her patients feel better and achieve better mental health using ketamine. Claire Pollard is dedicated to leveraging the decades of nursing and healthcare experience available to the patients of Houston Ketamine Specialists to help them step into a life they’ll love living. For Claire, there is no greater honor than hearing a simple “thank you for helping me.”
